The Trustees for the year to 5 April 2023 We￿ Rosemary Hyde {Chairl, Helen Munro and Rebecca Parker. The Princlpal Office is 11 Eskdale Lod8e, Lexham Gardens, Amersham, HP6 5JJ. The Bankers are Barclays PIC and the Investment Manager Is Bèrclays Wealth. The charivs total income for the year was £22,087 {£19.717 in 20211221 and its expenditure was £23,9511£20,908 in 202V221. of which £23.329 was donated in grants and the balance of expenditure of £622 was for administrative expenses. The income. which is generated from the CIO'S investment portfolio. has shown a small 8rowth this year, as dNidend receipts are slowly recovering after companies were forced to reduce dividend payments in the light of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the overall value of the investment portFolio has fallen to £728.074 from £783,658 in 2022. as equity values have been hit by woddwide uncertainties following the war in Ukraine. The objects of charity are forthe relief of mental disorder or mental impairmenL including research into antenatsl causes and the cure. treatment and care of infrdnts. chiklren and young persons suffering from mental disorder or impaiment. Because funds forgrants are limited. the Trustees have decided as a matter of poliry that grants should be restricted to beneficiaries who are children aged 16 and under. A body seeking funding must therefore satisfy the Trustees that any grant will be applied for the benefr( of children in that category. Where a grant 1$ sought for purposes whlch would benefrt children with physical disabilitie5 as well as those with mentsl disabilities, at least 75% of the proposed beneficiaries must be children suffering from mental disorder or impairnient. The Trustees also generally prefrr to make Brdnts for identrfied item5 of equipment, or specified material projects. rather than to contribute to general running expenses. Each application for a grant is considered by the chartvs administrator. If rt doe5 not fall within the charitys objertives it is rejected. Those applications which are eligible for o grant are considered at one of the meetings of the tntstees. which take place twi￿ a year. usually in June and December. The trustees decide which applications best comply with their policy and make gronts accordingly. within their Cur￿nt financial resources from income on investments. Grants are made usually of amounts between £5CK) and £3.CKX). The trustees, in making decisions about 8rants. have had due regard to the commlssion's public benefit guldance. A total of 9 grants to charities were made for projects which met with the trustees, approval. all within the tru5tee< policy as ststed above. This compares to 8 grants awarded In 2021122. We are starting to see an increase in the number of organisations applying for our grants. as organisations are able to offer a fvller range of services. post pandemic. Our grants included funding for outdoor play equipment. sensory play equipment. a sensory room. performing arts visits and specialist activity days.

Alongside the consideration of grants. the Trustees. who are responsible for the management of the CIO'S investments. discuss with their advisers from Barclays Wealth the state of the investment portfolio. and the level of investment risk a￿ptable. The printipol risk to the charity 15 loss in investment value and incorne. and this is reduced by using the Barclays Wealth Advisory Investment Service which has specialist investment adviser5. The trustees are satisfied that the charitvs risk mana8ement policy and procedures adequately address the risks to the charity arising from its activitie& The investment policy Is to maintain both the capital value of the portfolio and the income yield and the management poli￿ is to use the net income available to meet application5 for grants.
