Because funds for grants are limited, the Trustees have decided as a matter of policy that grants should be restricted to beneficiaries who are children aged 16 and under. A body seeking funding must therefore satisfy the Trustees that any grant will be applied for the benefft of children in that category. Where a grant is sought for purposes which would benefit children with physical disabilities as well as those wtth rnental disabilities, at least 75% of the proposed beneficiaries must be chIld￿n suffering from mental di50rder or impaimient. The Trustees also generally prefer to make grants for identified items of equipment, or specified materlal projects, rather than to contribute to general running expenses. Each application for a grant is considered by the charivs admini5trdtor. If it does not fall within the charl￿5 objectives it is rejected. Those applications which are eligible for a grant are considered at one of the meetings of the trustees. which take plate twice a year, usually in June and December.
