The name of the Charitable Incorporated Organisation is the Dorothy Pamela Smith CIO ￿lStered
with the Charity Commission, number 116CQ54.
The Trustees for the year to P April 2022 were Rosemary Hyde (Chairl. Helen Munro arKI Rebecca
Parker. Helen Munro was appointed a Trustee on 19 April 2021.
The Principal Office is 11 Eskdale Lodge. Lexham Gardens. Amersham, HP6 SJJ.
The Bankers are Barclays PIC and the Investment Manager Is Barclays Wealth.
The charivs total income for the year was £19.7171£19.648 in 2020121) and its expenditure was
£20,908 {£14,204 in 20201211, of which £20.417 was donated in grants and the balance of
expenditu￿ of £491 was for administratNe expenses. The income continues to be adverselv
impacted by falling dNidend payments on the CICYS investment portfol￿. as companies were forced
to redu￿ dlvidend payments In the light of the COV1[￿19 pandemic.
The objects of charity are for the relief of mentsl disorder or mental impainnent. including research
into antenatal causes and the cure, treatment and Ca￿ of infants. children and young persons
suffering from mental disorder or impaiment. Because funds for grants are limited, the Trustees
have decided as a matter of policy that grants should be restricted to beneficiaries who are children
aged 16 and under. A body seeking funding must therefore satisfy the Trustees that any grant will
be applied for the benefft of children in that category. Where a grant is sought for purposes which
would benefit children with physical disabilities as well as those wtth rnental disabilities, at least 75%
of the proposed beneficiaries must be chIld￿n suffering from mental di50rder or impaimient. The
Trustees also generally prefer to make grants for identified items of equipment, or specified materlal
projects, rather than to contribute to general running expenses.
Each application for a grant is considered by the charivs admini5trdtor. If it does not fall within the
charl￿5 objectives it is rejected. Those applications which are eligible for a grant are considered at
one of the meetings of the trustees. which take plate twice a year, usually in June and December.
The trustees decide which application5 best comply with their policy and make grants accordin81y,
within their current financial resources from income on investments. Grants are made usually of
amounts between £500 and £3.(MXI.
The trustees, in making decisions about grants. have had due regard to the commlssion's public
benefit guidance. A total of 8 grants to charities were made for projerts which met with the
trustees, approval. all withln the trusteeg policy as stated above. Thi5 compares to 9 8rants
awarded in 2020121. This number of grants awarded is less than half the number awarded pre-
pandemic, reflecting the impact of COVID 19 on the organisations that the charity would normally
support. Our grants enabled organisations to continue to support children impacted by COVID-19,
allowing activities to continue, in many cases."remoteV- These included funding for outdoor play
equipment. sensory play equipment, a specialist hoist, an adaptive wheelchair. performing arts visits
and specialist attivity days.

Alongside the consideratioft of grants. the Trustee5. who are responsible for the
management of the CIO'S investments, di5CUSS With their advisers from Barclays Wealth the state of
the investment portfollo. and the level of investment risk a(￿ptsb1e.
The principal risk to the charity is loss in investment value and income. and this is reduced by using
the Barclays Wealth Advisory Investment Service which has specialist investment advisers. The
trustees are satlsfied that the charltys risk management policy and procedures adequately address
the risk5 to the charity arisin8 from its activities.
The investment policy is to maintaln both the capital value of the portfolio and the income yield and
the management p)licy is to use the net income available to meet applications for grants.
The trustees declare that they have approved the trustee< report above.
Signed for and on behalf of the trustees.
