Policies and objectives The ehar(cy's purpose is lo advance the education tsf young petsons in the Un(ted Kingdom and elsewhere in the Polish language, history, culture and traditions. In setting objectives and planning for 8Ctivilies, the Trustees have given due consideration lo general guidance published by the Charity Commission relating to public benefrt, including the 9uidance 'Public benefit.. running a charity IPB21'. b. A¢tlvlti¢s undertaken to achi&ve objectlvgs Income is largely derived from donations and lègacies from various sponsors such as individuals and orgar)isations to help PES facililales their objectives to help young persons and teachers improve their education capabilrties. The principal aclivits.es of the society throughout the year continued lo be that of the publishing and sale of educolignal aids, the organisalion of confer¢n¢es, the administration of courses and examinations, the dissemination of educational material to Schools and ¢entres ol education. Th8 charity is active in assisting Polish Supplementsry Schools throughout England, in organising conferences for teachers. and supplying teaching and related materials as w&ll as organising public examinations for students in the Polish language. Accounting policias 2.1 Basis of preparation of finanrial statements The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the Charities SORP {FRS 1 Tr21 Aeeounting and Reporting by Charities.. Ststement of Reeommended Practice applicable to charitiès preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 (effective 1 January 2019), the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 and the Charities Act 2011. The financial statements have been prepared to give a Irue and faiv view and have departad from the Charities (Accounts and Reportsl Regulations 2008 only to the extent required to provide a 'lrue and fairf view. Tangible fixed assets are initially recognised al cost. After recognition, under the cost model. tangible fixed assets are measured al cost less accumulated depreciation and any accumulated impairment losses. Al costs incurred to bring a tangible fixed asset into its intended working condition should be included in the measurement of cost.
