FRIENDS FOR YOU REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2024 The trustees present their report with the financial statements of the charity for the year ending 31 March 2024. The trustees have adopted the provisions of Accountin8 and Reporting by Charities.. Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 {effective l January). Our projects for the year 2023-2024 have continued successfully in countries effected by the refugee crisis in Jordan, Lebanon, and Bangladesh for the Rohingya refugees. We also distributed aid for the victlms of Floods and for the earthquake victims in Turkey and Morocco in 2023. Our work brought relief to thousands of families. Our team also continued their work in India, and trustees travelled to India to verify and to start new projects for the next few years. As reported in last yearf5 Statement, we have now started the buildin8 work for our housing and girls school projert. Our Orphans Umrah program continues, and again this year we sponsored 30 orphans to perform Umrah. We also continue to SUPPOrt thousand5 Qf families with basic daily items like, food, water, medical support, income 5UPPOrt. community support. and free education support. Financial review- Reserve5 and financial performance The Chority raised £4(X),(XIO in income for this period and have distributed £365,OW to worthy causes for this financial year. The charity has sufFicient reserves to cover expenses for MO￿ than 18 months in line with our reserves policy. The Charity will always look to minimized overheads and wlll contlnue to monitor costs and funds to have sufficient funds in all area5 to continue our work. The charitvs funds and donations have increased in line with expectations. In the event of reserves fallin8 significantly below the target level, we will aim to restore the reserves as soon as possible by increasing fundraising, Increasin8 sponsors and other means where possible including reducing expenditure. Similarly, if reserves are significantly above the target level, the charity will put in place a plan as soon as possible, aiming to eliminate the excess within two years by spending on new projects and increase provisions for poor families in need. The trustees will not. however. take any steps that mi8ht call into question the ability of the charity to continue a5 a financially viable operation in the long term. In 2023124, we have again been impacted by inflation such a5 material and labour costs to name a few. The continued currency volatility, and difficulties in supply of material due to the continued conflict in Ukraine and new conflicts in the middle east and elsewhere carries on. Despite these challenges. we have overcome these issues and Still continue with all our projects. Food Aid- Friends For You managed to deliver our pro8ram of food parcels and hot mea15 successfully to many countries including Turkey, Morocco where thousands of famllies lost their homes and into the refugee camps in Jrdan. Lebanon, and Bangladesh. We distributed thousands of food parcels and Pa8e14

hot meals to many poverty-stricken areas of India, and the Syrian refugee camps in Jordan & Lebanon. We distributed enou8h food parcels to produce nearly one million hot meals in 2023124. Watsr Ald Hand pumps - Many families can have access to water all year round. In 2023124, over 120 hand pumps were provided which can be acce55ed by over a thousand families who Othe￿Ise would have little or no access to water. This facility will last for many years to come, 8eneratin8 Duas and Sadaqa e Jariyah to all those who donated Bore Well Dozens of bore wells were installed in different parts of small and large villages in many parts of India. A Single bore well can pump enough water to supply a small village with daily water for up to 2C#l+ families. This facility also provides local mosques and community centres for their water needs. Again, this facility will last for many years to come, generating Duas and Sadaqa e Jariyah to all those who donated. Medlcal Ald - Millions of families suffer in silence because they have no access to medical funds and facilities. We do our absolute best to provide as much help as possible. However, due to lack of funds, many thousands continue to suffer in silence. Child Sponsorlsupport - in 2024 we have registered 140 children back into school As everything returns to normality, we will take in more children in 2024. Children need their education for their future. We will continue to expand our e(iucatlon program depending on funds raised. We thank all our child sponsors who continued their child sponsor5 and those donors who helped maintain the school. CommunStyAld-We Contlnued throughout 2023 helping communities meet their everyday needs by providing a safe place for congregation by repairin8, improving, or extending building5 With facilities to meet the needs of the community. Refugees around the world - we have resumed our international duties for our work in the refugee camps in Jordan and Lebanon for the Syrian, Palestinian refugees in September 2023. We distributed aid worth nearly £50,C(rfJ. We have plans for several trips in 2023124 to distribute further aid to those refugee camps.
