Section D Achievements and performance Achievements in 2022. Our activities in 2022 have focused on fund raising and allocation of grants to qualrfying organisations, although health issues have restricted our usual activities. Summary ofthe main achlevements of the charity during the year We have, however. been able to attend 4 events. and our collecting tins based in shops have also been successful this year. Sadly. our supporter who makes our woodcraft died this year, and we wish to acknowledge his skill and commrtment to Animal Canopy over the years. We were very fortunate that the Cockapoo UK Chvners Club have continued to support us this year. It has also been encouraging to re1ve some donations from individuals on a regular basis. This year we have not been involved in the distribution of purple poppies - the remembrance of animals killed or injured in war zones (the animal equivalent of the British Legion red poppies). A total of £3113 was raised in 2022. which reflects the constraints that we have lived with this year. However, many thanks are due to the trust&s and supporters for their continued hard work and commitment. We evaluate grant applications twtce a year (February and August), and as a result have made grants of £9000 in 2022. All grants {15 in number) have been to UK based organisations. It has been very encouraging to hear how the organisations have used the grants to further animal welfare and provide public benefft in doing so. The trustees have had due regard to the guidance on public benefit given in the Charities Act and the Charities {Accounts and Reports} Regulations 2008 when planning and executing each event. Plans for 2023. We will continue to wotk closely with the organisations that we support. However, the long temi illness issues currently being suffered will affect what we can achieve with the charity. We do understand that the Gharity 11 be offered a bequest from one of our supporters who sadly died this year. If this happens, we will be able to support a good number of anirnal rescue organisations with grants. TAR March 2012
