During the year, the Charity adopted a policy for requiring potential new Trustees to undergo a 6mths probationary “Volunteer” period, to enable both parties sufficient time to ensure a perfect fit (for the person, but also the time requirements)

Section C Objectives and activities
To provide Wishes and Family Fun Days (“Treasure Boxes”) to children suffering from Cancer or Leukaemia who receive treatment via Kamrans Ward of the John Radcliff Hospital in Summary of the objects Oxford, and Leicester Royal Infirmary. Our funds are raised via of the charity set out in collections, stalls at local events, public donations and sponsored its governing document events.
The Charity was able to gift FORTY-TWO Treasure Boxes during the year – our most awarded in one year
Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)
The Charity continued its expansion to its second hospital ward in the year, helping to grant Treasure Boxes to deserving children being treated at the Leicester Royal Infirmary
We were also able to triple our Hospital Ward Gift giving to help alleviate the adverse mental effects of Covid
Throughout the year, the Trustees maintained regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit

Section D Achievements and performance
Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year
£18,000 income increase in 2021 vs 2020 largely owing to postponed 2020 events and increased community awareness events by Trustees
EIGHT more Treasure Boxes granted than in 2020, with 42 our highest amount EVER gifted in a year
£10,000 profit in the year - even after granting so many more wishes, and investment in future marquee events
£43,800 raised this year – our 2nd highest amount ever, with a healthy £39,000 in the bank, enough for around 78 Treasure Boxes without funding
Over 50 people have been raising money for TM this year, with £8,000 coming from Company donations
On current trajectory, 2021-2022 will pass £200k donated and 200 wishes granted
Team Mikayla Trustees were awarded the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service during the year!

I have reviewed the Annual Accounts for 2020/21 of Team Mikayla. and the records from which they have been prepared.
