For the public benefit, SWATS aims to develop educated, healthy young people who are better able to find and maintain employment and thus contribute to their community. In Sierra Leone one person in employment often supports multiple members of their extended family. Thus by increasing the educational attainment and employment potential of individuals within the community, the benefits will be spread widely across the community. Beneficiaries of SWATS will benefit from: • Free or subsidised education • A safe environment in which to learn • Employment opportunities for the teaching staff that guarantees them fair and regular salaries • Employment opportunities through building and infrastructure projects where as far as possible all projects will be staffed by local people • Access to goods and services to reduce poverty |
