To promote the community partlcipation in healthy recreation for the benefit of the inhabitants of Teesdale and the surroundin8 area by the provision of facilities for sailing and other water sports and other such actlvltie5 as the club shall from time to time decide. 121 To advance the physical education of youn8 people, especially but not exclusively, of Teesdale and the surroundlng area by provldlng and assisting in the provlslon of coachlng, equipment and facilities for sailing and other water sport5. To help young people, especially but not exclusively through leisure tlme activltles, so as to develop their capabilities that they may grow to full maturity as individuals and members of 50cietv. Our primary activlties have focussed on expandin8 our membership and watersport dellvery to our local area, based on a wlder use of Gra55holme Reservoir. AchSevements and rform nc 2020 was a year Sn which the club Suffered Significant dlsruptlon for two reasons. l. The Covid 19 pandemic which prevented sailing at all for part of the year and then imposed restrictions on the Club's actlvitles. 2. Significant works to the reseNoir infrastructure by Northumbrlan Water whlch are scheduled to continue for two years. Thls resulted in a substantial lowerlng of the water level which made launchlng and recovery of the boats challengin8. Membership in 2020 stood at.. 42 Adults 15 Junior5 This compares to 2019 as follows.. 56 Adults 30 Juniors

The F3 Club (Fast, Fun and Freel which had proved incredibly successful in previous years was particularly badly hit. Club Im rovements Whi15t the event5 of the year conspired to make sailing challenging, the works bein8 undertaken on the reservolr wlll fesult in a slgnificant improvement to the Club'5 facilities. The principal change 15 the creation of a level, waterside boat park. This will provlde an alternatlve to the existing boat park which15 on 0 Steep incline. The new boat park will make the storage of boats and their launchlrecovery far easler which, in turn, should make the Club a more attractlve destination. In addition to the level boat park, the club progressed plans for the construction of a new stora8e shed located within the orlglnal boat park. This will provide a more accessible faclllty for the boats in the new boat Park and will help to service the fleet of club boat5, many of whlch are used for tralnln8. As part of thelr works, Northumbrian Water will also create a new dedicated slipway at the western end of the new boat park. This makes a beach to the west of this slipway more accessible whlch should be a benefit for parking up at lunchtime and for the provlsion of training. Associated wlth the new boat park, the Club wlll advance plans for a hut for the Offlcer of the Dav IOODI. The OOD 5s responsible for the Safety of users on the water and conducts the racing for the day. Currently the OOD is based outsidelin their car. A dedicated hut will provide a far better Whilst participation was 518niflcantly reduced in 2020, the Committee has progressed plans to extend the activities at the club with Wilderness Outdoor Education becomin8 a corporate member and the club's facilities bein8 shared with the Combined Cadet Force ICCFI. In addition, paddle craft have continued to L15e the club, albeit in understandably low numbers thls year. The Committee continue5 to explore Open Water Swimming with an as5e55ment of the facilities needed and the mean5 of registering the Reservoir. Our approach to providin8 watersport opportunities continues to be very much communlty focussed. The charity has a fleet of 32 sailing dinghies enabling people to participate, whether or

Flnanclal revlew We alm to balance our Income lexcludlng 8rants and financial awards) with our expenditure (excluding grant funded purchasesl. In 2020, the Club posted a small deficit on our normal activities of £2,391. After recelpt of Covid 19 grant support from Durham County Council and allowing for depreclatlon the club made a modest surplus of £3.678, slmilar to 2019. Our cash reseNes are prlmarlly used to pre-fund major purchases that are wholly or partially covered by grants and awards. Whllst 2020 has been a difficult year with many of the usual ways in which the club would generate funds denled due the pandemic, we see no reason to chan8e the way in which we operate and rnana8e our finances. Our aim remains to maintaln our posltion of beln8 one of the most accessible communlty water sport club5 in the reBiOn. overnJn¢e s ructure and man ement The charity IS governed by a constitution first prepared on 151 November 2014, approved by the Charity Commission on 3 December 2014 and subsequently amended on 24, January 2016.
