Chairmans report

March 23 – March 24

There is lots to report on what has been happening at HYC during the last 12 months.

Youth clubs have continued to grow, Fridays have seen regular numbers of up to 80 young people each week, Mondays are a lot quieter averaging 20 young people each week.

We are still struggling to get volunteers in to help meaning we have closed youth clubs on occasion, but we are very grateful to the core team of volunteers who are with HYC most weeks and make it possible to keep running.

Birthday parties are still very popular at HYC and we have had a total of 101 in this 12 month period.

Other events that have been held at HYC are, Table Tennis two day tournament, HYC FC Awards, Springbucks Gymnastic competition, a wedding reception, a micro robots annual competition and a NEW years Eve family party.

Outside of the centre we have supported a number of community events by taking our inflatables along this includes, Manor Farm Schools PTA summer event, Hazlemere Fete and Winchmore Hills Cricket Club.

We are still looking for new hirers to join us during the day as we have a few spaces to fill and we hope to build back up to full capacity over the next few months.

Expenses are still a concern as the utility bills are still very high along with a general increase across the board it is becoming harder to cover these bills, we have been lucky in receiving a grant to help with the gas bills and we are continuing to find ways of generating more income to meet the ongoing increases.

We are all looking forward to another successful year for HYC

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31 / 03 / 2024.

Responsibilities and As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation basis of report of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

Independent I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have examiner's statement come to my attention (other than that disclosed below *) in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:
