The Trustees are nominated and elected by the membership at an Annual General Meeting held each January. OBJEcfivES The objectives of the Club shall be to promote community participation in healthy recreation and social engagement for the benefit of the inhabitants of Gwynfi and surrounding areas by providing and maintaining facilities for playing bow15 recreationally and competitively and organising related community events and activities such as coaching sessions. family day5, presentations and events for members and guests or similar. Chairman's Report for 2024- Annual General Meeting 15 Jan 2025 The Chairman welcomed members and trustees to the meeting and was pleased to report it had been another good season for the Club with no relegation and a secure position in the 1st Division of both the Port Talbot League and Neath & District League. The membership had excellent participation in League and County tournaments and the Club retained its reputation as a strong contender in the regional bowls community. green and other Club facilities this season, especially for the repair of gutters; the playing surface remained in good condition despite a continuing problem with intermittent mole damage. Mr. K. Robinson was thanked for his support in managing this. Mr. A. Simpson was thanked for his efforts to administer league and club tournaments and presentations and wished good luck for the forthcoming season. The Chairman advised that he would be standing down for 2025 and had been somewhat disheartened by the apathy of the wider membership for supporting the activities required to secure the future of the club. The Secretary and Mrs. Geraldine Jones were thanked for their contributions to Club administration and financial management throughout the year to date and Mr. C.Trahar for his outstanding contribution to Club finances through management of the bowls lottery. The Chairman a150 thanked Mr. Clive Rogers and the G2 Sports Bar for once again providing hospitality to visiting teams and sponsoring the club. l. Treasurerf5 Report & Annual Accounts The report was presented by the Secretary on behalf of the Treasurer. The club opening balance for 2023-24 was £10,780.31 comprising £4.867.39 cash and £5,912.92 bank. Total income for the year was £7,300.78 and total expenditure £6,104.21 The Bowls Lottery had contributed £2,243 and thanks were given to Mr. C. Trahar for his efforts to manage and sustain this. It was hoped that another member would step up to thi5 Vltal role for the forthcoming season. The club had received compensation for interruption to power supplies and unauthorised council use of electricity by workrnen during the year and other overheads had been contained fairly well despite rising costs. The club had en1ergency reserves of £3,057.94 with the opening balance for the year amounting to £11,976.88, up on the previous year and a healthy position for the forthcoming season. The Treasurer had advised his intention to stand down at the end of 2025 and hoped a new appointment could be made in time to ensure a smooth transition. 2. Secretarfs Report Mr. P. Bryant would be standing down as'secretary after completing outstanding administration prior to the season and supporting handover to the new appointee. The membership were reminded that the Corona Energy account needed to be updated with submission of a monthly meter reading in order to avoid any unnecessary estimated charges. The Secretary reminded the membership of constitutional obligations as set out in the Governing Document to appoint an annual trustee replacement for the longest-serving incumbent. Two new trustees would need to be appointed for 2025 to replace the outgoing Chairman and Secretary. 3. Election of Officers: President, Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretaryp Treasurer, Captain , Vlce Captain and Fixtures Secretary Mr C. Jones agreed to act as President, Mr R. Quinn agreed to stand as Vice-chairman, Mr l. Jones agreed to stand as Secretary, Mr L. Jones agreed to act as Treasurer during 2025, all carried by those present. Mr A. Simpson agreed to continue to act as Captain and Mr l. Jones agreed to act as Vice- Captain. Mr. D.Cole agreed to act as Fixtures Secretary. There were no nominees for Chairman and the position remained vacant. Mr. l. Jones (Hon. Secretary) and Mr. C. Robinson agreed to att as Trustees 4. Policy Reviews (previously circulated) Health & Safety Policy Re%fjew. The policy document as last reviewed on 26 Apr 2021 was approved without amendment. Mr. P.Bryant agreed to act as nominated First Alder post training and certification at the end of January. The incoming Secretary was asked to ensure fire extinguisher certification remained current and all appropriate risk assessments remained current in accordance with the policy. Safeguarding Policy. The W8A model policy as adopted in 2017 was reviewed and the current Model Policy document approved for club adoption. Mr.P.
