charity's
work has made to
the circumstances
of its
beneficiaries
and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.
The group has performed
to over 3000people
in local villages and towns across Sussex
including
Haywards
Heath, Cuckfleld,
Chichester,
Uckfield, Horsham.
This year also included
more workshops
in
schools from primary to sixth form and special
educational
needs.
Sadly, the Covid Crisis and lockdown
saw the
cancellation
ofconcerts and education
work,
which should
have taken place before the end
of March 2020.
Lunchtime
Concerts
Our lunchtime
concerts have become an
important
part ofour outreach
work.
We have
found that many people are arriving
earlier and
leaving later and enjoying the social aspect of
the concerts as well as the music. The pre-
concert refreshments
have become an
opportunity
for people to meet and socialise
and for some are the highlight
in their month.
This series continues to attract localoffice
workers,
a retired audience
from 65years to
95+years, mothers
with toddlers,
local school
groups and adults with severe disabilities.
Ensemble
Reza are keen to promote
and
nurture
young talented
musicians,
so local
students took part in our lunchtime
concert
series in May. This is always
a great
opportunity
for students to try out different
repertoire
and perform to a large audience.
Feedback from our audience:
'we have enjoyed the music, the friendship
being in an environment
that is not clinical and
lead to a normal life away from disabilities'
Staff from local care home
Very uplifting,
inspiring
and has been a bit of
soul food tofeast on during the week'
'To be inspired and uplifted and to be exposed
topieces l many not otherwise
hear. The
obvious enjoyment ofEnsemble
Reza members
is infectious'

Dec2019:School Concerts: Snowman
Tour
Following
a successful
Christmas concert in
2018and school pilot performance
ofthe
Snowman,
we secured funding to take the
Ensemble
Reza sextet on a tour ofS local
primary
schools (including
2 SEN schools) over
the course of 2 days.
In total we performed
our semi-staged
and Interactive
concert to over
890children,
aged between 4-18 and 128
adults
in 2 days. For some students
and
teachers,
it was the first time they had
experienced
live string instruments.
Teacher feedback: 'It was excellent, and Ireally
feel privileged
to have been able to enjoy such
a professional
performance'.
One teacher commented
that the music was
a
'fontastic
way tostart a Thursday
morning',
and this sentiment
was repeated
by other
students
and staff. 562 children completed
our
questionnaire
and 94%said that the concert
made them feel happy and relaxed.
Evening Concerts
Evening concerts have either been self-
promoted
or sponsored
by music
societies/clubs/festivals.
Our Cuckfield

a performance
at the
Cuckfield
Music Festival
in collaboration
with
the Horsham
Symphony
Orchestra
(June 2019)
and our own self-promoted
Candlelit concert
(Nov 2019)both to sell-out audiences ofover
220 people at each event. A further concert
had been planned
for March 2020, but this
was
cancelled
due to the Covid Crisis.

The Reza Community

to grow in popularity.
Designed for players

brings
friends and families together to make music,
with the support of Ensemble
Reza and
professional

Rehearsals
include
smaller sectional sessions led by Ensemble
Reza musicians to help with note reading and

had registered
to take part in our Spring

with some players travelling
from
as far as Brighton and Crawley to join the
orchestra.
The multi-generational

is
very exciting and unique to our Community
Orchestra.

at
one outdoor concert, including
our local
shopping
centre as part oftheir Power of Music
Festival.

Explanation ofany Pere 1.23 From the end ofMarch 2020, the COVID-19
uncertainties about the pandemic
had osignificant impact on Ensemble
charity continuing as a going Reza. The Trustees have reviewed the position
throughout
2020-21 and are very satisfied that
the charity has been able to adapt to the
current environment
and deliver Its mission
online through its virtual concert series
(Midday Music) and other education
and
community
programmes.
The charity has been
very successful
In obtaining funding for those
activities and as at the date ofsigning
these
accounts had more than f90,000 in the bank,
Conservative
cash flow modelling indicates that
these cosh reserves ofthe charity are adequate
to meetits obligations
as they fall
due.
Accordingly
the Trustees believe Ensemble
Reza's financial resources are sufficient to
ensure it will continue as a going concern for
the foreseeable future, being at least 12
months from the date ofapproval ofthe
financial statements
and have ther efore
prepared
the financial statements
on a going
concern basis.
