the charity as set out in its
governing document
Para 1.17 The advancement of education of
orphans in the developing world for the
public benefit.
The relief of poverty of orphans and
widows in the developing world for the
public benefit
Summary of the main
activities in relation to those
purposes for the public
benefit, in particular, the
activities, projects or services
identified in the accounts.
Para 1.17 and
1.19
Help Yateem has assisted this year 5
orphan schools in Somalia with their
educational facilities such as
maintaining existing 5 ICT rooms. The
charity maintains these facilities and
still in operation and sustainable.
Our Ramadan Iftaar program has
benefited more than 15,000 people that
are orphan and needy families in
poorer countries. Eid gifts for 124
Orphan Children. Eid Qurbani for
orphan and needy families has helped
more than 20,000 people.
This year we have launched a
campaign using “Launch-good”
donation platform and others for
assisting with the construction of Boy’s
orphanage and rescue centre in Kenya.
We have succeeded in helping the
completion of Al-Walidayn Boy’s
orphanage building. This project will
benefit and accommodate 160 children
and has a play area and sports centre.
There is a school closer to the building
where the children attend.
This year our bakery in Yemen was
operating in full capacity and delivered
over 2 million bread to the orphan and
needy families.
This year we have also carried out
water projects that helped 18000 people
**in Yemen, Gambia and Somalia. **
This year we have introduced selling
dates to our donors. We have
purchased Ajwah Dates from Madinah
with the intention of any profits from
the sale to be used for the care of
orphan families. The trial project was
successful as we have received more
orders online and donors used the
purchase to send the dates as gifts to
friends, families and work colleagues.
We had a slight delay in the delivery
reaching us a month before Ramadan
due to Sues canal traffic jam. But we
managed to sell the rest of the stock on
the next financial year.
The date sale project improved our
donor relations and helped us to raise
more funds through further donations

Contribution made by
volunteers
Para 1.38 Our volunteers especially the youth have
contributed a lot this year. The
traditional way of collecting money
during Ramadan such as mosque
collection, events and other physical
collection were not possible. The youth
volunteers managed and made effective
use of social media and other donation
platforms such as Launch-good, Muslim-
giving and Just giving. They also helped
improving our website. We also had our
own volunteers on the countries we were
supporting especially Somalia, Kenya,
Ethiopia and Yemen.

bearing more fruits. For example, the
Somali government after a long period,
has now introduced standardised exam
for all schools in the country. They
have also included ICT as a core
subject. Our ICT rooms will equip the
orphan schools we helped to do well in
their exams.
Our Ramadan and Eid program have
helped many orphan families in many
poor counties. As the schools are
closed during Ramadan and they will
not have the food they used to get from
the schools they attended.
Our relief program and bread factory in
Yemen has benefited many orphan and
needy families in Yemen.
Our campaign and assistance in Al
Waalideyn Boy’s Orphanage and
rescue centre in Kenya was successful.
The centre will benefit 160 children with
food, shelter, medicine and education.

growing. 150 orphans were sponsored

policy for holding reserves
stating why they are held
Para 1.22 Help Yateem policy is to have a healthy
balance on unrestricted funds for three to
six months to cover the running costs of
the schools we assist in educational
facilities as well as the admin cost
necessary to maintain our website and
resource generating activities. We
managed not to overdraw throughout the
year.
Our aim is to buy land in Somalia to set
up an orphanage with school and other
facilities. We have been advised to first
apply for free land from the government
to set up this good cause. We have
requested that and waiting for a

successful, we will search a good land
