Evergreen has an established reputats.on locally as a charity which responds to local need with compassion and commrtment and for working collaboratively with statutory other sector organi5ations for the benefft of local people. Evergreen in representiiig the trllrd sector maintains ts contribution to Neighbourhood Working which is a fine example of integrated Servi provision and collaborative work to improve SeN1 efficacy and reducts.on of duplication and unneSSary waste. The intent is to join up services to enhan the care and support of persons especially those who are deemed frequent service users. The general benefft of this is to reduce unneSSary s hospital admissions, the reduction in GP visits, and the pmmotion of positNe wellbeing as the health and social care sector partner with the third sector to imptement this strategy. Evergreen considers it a great privilege to be allied to and engaged with this very proactive practice. The Director and RCM and or her team meets fortnigmly wilh health, social care and allied colleagues for this purpose. We remain acttvely involved in knowledge sharing, participating in collaborative trials and projects and proudly represent the third sector in respect of this. We are rx)nvinced of the value of th approach to care provision and believe that it is local people who benefit from these efforts. Significant Activities The Trust maintains ts 7 'no charge. services wilh demand for these remaining high apart from the Hospital to Home Service which sadly, is our least used servi. The lack of demand for this service has more to do with the challenges the local hosprtal has in workyng th volunteers and the pressure of time scales for discharge and secoTTdly, the increasing complexity of cases being discharged home, deemed in appropriate for volunteers to manage safely and appropriately. This SeThi tends to bé used for those of our existing members when we are aware of their admission into hosprtal and prepare to support them when they are due to retum hom8. Parthership Activity Friendship Lunch Club In March 2020. our friendship lunth dub hosted at Morrisons Supemiarket was suspended due to COVID restrictions and lockdown. Financial Review The Evergreen Care Trust is a faith based CaniSation and the funding of the ongoing free SeNiS is primarily from public fundraising and donations. The Covid pandemic signfficantly curtailed the nomial fundraising adiwties. but local supporters continued to donate generously to fund these adivities for the IoG21 communty. As a rate payer the charity also received a Covid support grant from SKDC These funds along wth the ontribution from the paid for ServIS help to cover the administrative costs of the Evergreen Care Trust, induding general running costs and salaries of administrative staff. The additional infection ntrol costs during the pandemic were also supported by a grant from Lincolnshire County Coun(al. In 2020121 the Trust had an income of £438.555 including donations and grants of £172,277. ExndItUre in the year was £411.028 giving rise to a surplus of £27,527. The contnbution from paid for services was lower due to the lifftited availabilty of care staff to meet the demand for home care services from members. The detailed results for the year and financial position of the charrty are shown in the financial statemerrts. At the 31 March 2021 the Chartty had totai reserves of £83,137, of which just £7,406 was restricted. These reserves were equivalent to just over 10 weeks of the planned expenditure over the coming year. The Trustees regularly monitored the level of reserves and aim to at least maintain the cuent level being a reasonable balan between the need to resource current expenditure and the need for longer tenn sustainability. During the year the Trust Introdu Evergreen Care Stamford & District as a new operating name for all the Servi provided for the l¢)cal communities in Stamford, Boume and The Deepings. The Trust also launched an intuatsve to further promote the Evergreen Friendship model in other local communities in the surrounding area Ihrough the local Churches Together groups. Grants and Expendrture related to this intbative are rinfenCed wrthin the accounts as a restricted fund. Future Plans On the 1 April 2021 a new Director and RCM p)sl was cr&ed within the charity to lead the new Evergreen Care Stamford & District untt providing all the Evergreen ServIS to the local area community as well as the administrative Servi for Ihe Trusl as a whole. In the coming year the focus of the Trustees will be on restoring all the Evergreen services to normal operalion as Covid restrictions ease. consistent with the safety and wellbeing of our staff and members. The aim will also be to grow the restored setvices using remiitment initiatives and by updating marketrng material to ensure all stakeholders are aware of the range of paid for arKt volunteer services available to support the care needs of the local communty.
