assigning Trustees responsibilits"es. diversty aNI equalrty. It has also been
incorporated into the Risk Register.
2. The Trust has established pr￿sseS and procedures to ensure CQC complian
wrth nats'onal standards and ￿st prac￿￿ recommendations, evidencing this. Sin
the year*nd the charty has registered with QCS (Qualty Compliance Systems) to
ensure that all the correct policres and prO￿dureS are in Pla￿ to promote safe
worknng pradices. In addttion. along wtth a new HR system to record dissemination
to staff, this will ensure on-going Complian￿ as they update the regulations, in tum,
updating the policies and procedures.
3. Evergreen has been registered as a National Li¥llng Wage employer Sin￿ 2017. The
Trust continues to work towards replacing zero contracts V￿th guaranleed hour5 for
all staff, and is reviewing the model of Care delivery to improve both working
conditions and person centred care delivery. The pay rate increment is nomially
implemented in May of each year.
4. The Volurrteer SerV[￿s Team has necessarily focussed efforts on deafing wtth the
COVID pandemic. This has impacted the recruitment of new volunteers but has still
enabled her to re-engage in important ways with the existing amy of volunteer5 and
partnership working wrth other stakeholders to meet the needs of the community.
During this time. we adapted our Volunteer Led Services, specifically Befriending,
due to some Members being advised to shield. The Befriending Service 1￿caMe a
telephone service as opposed to face to face. This enabled us to maintain Contact
wrth the vulnerable Members of Ihe Community and skn.ll provide this valuable free

and a reflection of the 8efriending Service. Effectrve communication has been
maintained and improved. Emails, a newly devised quarterly newsletter, and social
media posts conb'nue to promote the Trust Due to the pandemic nominations were

the lockdown. Neighbourhood Working remains a key Evergreen activity while it
enables a 'joined up approach. to the planning of care and support for local people.
It has a special focus in our distrtct on moderate to severe frailty, which represents

letters and cards. Evergreen has an established reputats.on locally as a charity which
responds to local need with compassion and commrtment and for working collaboratively
with statutory other sector organi5ations for the benefft of local people.
Evergreen in representiiig the trllrd sector maintains ts contribution to Neighbourhood
Working which is a fine example of integrated Servi￿ provision and collaborative work to
improve SeN1￿ efficacy and reducts.on of duplication and unne￿SSary waste. The intent is
to join up services to enhan￿ the care and support of persons especially those who are
deemed frequent service users. The general benefft of this is to reduce unne￿SSary s
hospital admissions, the reduction in GP visits, and the pmmotion of positNe wellbeing as
the health and social care sector partner with the third sector to imptement this strategy.
Evergreen considers it a great privilege to be allied to and engaged with this very proactive
practice. The Director and RCM and or her team meets fortnigmly wilh health, social care
and allied colleagues for this purpose. We remain acttvely involved in knowledge sharing,
participating in collaborative trials and projects and proudly represent the third sector in
respect of this. We are rx)nvinced of the value of th￿ approach to care provision and believe
that it is local people who benefit from these efforts.
Evergreen remains committed to the 5UPWrt and valuing of its Fersonnel. This includes

Public Benefft
We believe that the supports and services the Ttust has developed over 16 years. is now a
vital resource for local older and vulnerable people and a strong partner will allied health and
social care professionals. Seven of our 'no charge, ServI￿S are volunteer led and provide
opportunities for Social engagemént, lrfe enhancing activities, and support with practical
matters. The 'not for profft. paid for ServI￿S cover a range of low-level inteTventions and
higher need regulated care activities for which local demand is high.
The Trust is committed to equality and diversity and welcome engagement with people from
different communrties and minorities without reserve, vthether as service users or as
Evergreen personnet.
Significant Activities
The Trust maintains ts 7 'no charge. services wilh demand for these remaining high apart

demand for this service has more to do with the challenges the local hosprtal has in workyng

complexity of cases being discharged home, deemed in appropriate for volunteers to

Our Befriending Servi￿ has now been extended to offer a listening support This listening

The NCVO Mentoring and BefrierKling ApkYoved Provider Standard was awarded to us in
DeGember 2020. This was a large piece of work that required meetings over zoom due to
the pandemic.
Our Wellbeing Warden seplice conb.nues to assist individuals with their medicat.on and
nutrition and hydration. Our paid for servI￿s, both Home Support and Wellbeing Service
have assisted and cared for over 120 persons on a regular basis in the last finanaal year.

Evergreen will supply and fit only Poli￿ approved, Supra 500 Key safes, supply and

In addition, we partnered with Cook of Stamford. They donated frozen meals and we

Financial Review
The Evergreen Care Trust is a faith based C￿aniSation and the funding of the ongoing free
SeNi￿S is primarily from public fundraising and donations. The Covid pandemic
signfficantly curtailed the nomial fundraising adiwties. but local supporters continued to
donate generously to fund these adivities for the IoG21 communty. As a rate payer the
charity also received a Covid support grant from SKDC These funds along wth the
ontribution from the paid for ServI￿S help to cover the administrative costs of the
Evergreen Care Trust, induding general running costs and salaries of administrative staff.
The additional infection ￿ntrol costs during the pandemic were also supported by a grant
from Lincolnshire County Coun(al.
In 2020121 the Trust had an income of £438.555 including donations and grants of
£172,277. Ex￿ndItUre in the year was £411.028 giving rise to a surplus of £27,527. The
contnbution from paid for services was lower due to the lifftited availabilty of care staff to
meet the demand for home care services from members. The detailed results for the year
and financial position of the charrty are shown in the financial statemerrts.
At the 31 March 2021 the Chartty had totai reserves of £83,137, of which just £7,406 was
restricted. These reserves were equivalent to just over 10 weeks of the planned expenditure
over the coming year. The Trustees regularly monitored the level of reserves and aim to at
least maintain the cu￿ent level being a reasonable balan￿ between the need to resource
current expenditure and the need for longer tenn sustainability.
During the year the Trust Introdu￿ Evergreen Care Stamford & District as a new operating
name for all the Servi￿ provided for the l¢)cal communities in Stamford, Boume and The
Deepings. The Trust also launched an intuatsve to further promote the Evergreen Friendship
model in other local communities in the surrounding area Ihrough the local Churches
Together groups. Grants and Expendrture related to this intbative are rin￿fenCed wrthin the
accounts as a restricted fund.
Future Plans
On the 1 April 2021 a new Director and RCM p)sl was cr&*ed within the charity to lead the
new Evergreen Care Stamford & District untt providing all the Evergreen ServI￿S to the local
area community as well as the administrative Servi￿ for Ihe Trusl as a whole.
In the coming year the focus of the Trustees will be on restoring all the Evergreen services to
normal operalion as Covid restrictions ease. consistent with the safety and wellbeing of our
staff and members. The aim will also be to grow the restored setvices using remiitment
initiatives and by updating marketrng material to ensure all stakeholders are aware of the
range of paid for arKt volunteer services available to support the care needs of the local
communty.
