Kombo Sillah Association was founded by Gambians and friends of The Gambia resident in the UK, with a view to promoting education and relieving poverty. This involves education about harmful cultural practices such as FGM, and the promotion of social cohesion. KSA offers support in The Gambia, providing medical supplies for a health centre and financial support for young people.

Objects: A) The Prevention Or Relief Of Poverty In The United Kingdom, In Particular But Not Exclusively For People From The Gambia Or West African Countries, Byproviding Grants, Items And Services To Individuals In Need And/or Charities, Or Other Organisations Working To Prevent Or Relieve Poverty.b) To Promote Social Inclusion For The Public Benefit By Working With People In Bristol And Other Areas Of The United Kingdom, In Particular (But Notexclusively) Those From The Gambian Community, Who Are Socially Excluded On The Grounds Of Their Ethnic Origin, Religion, Belief Or Creed To Relieve Theneeds Of Such People And Assist Them To Integrate Into Society, In Particular By:• Providing Advice And Information On The Legal Framework In Whichthey Will Be Living In The UK, Including (But Not Exclusively) Childprotection Issues And The Law On Female Genital Mutilation• Providing Social And Recreational Facilities And Events Involving Local Communities• Providing A Local Network Group That Encourages And Enables Mem Bers Of The Gambian Community To Participate More Effectively With Thewider Community;• Increasing, Or Co-Ordinating, Opportunities For Members Of Thegambian Community To Engage With Service Providers, To Enable Those Providers To Adapt Services To Better Meet The Needs Of That Community.c) The Relief Of Poverty And Need For People In The Gambia By Providing Financial Reliefd) To Advance Education For Public Benefit
