Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year

SHOW CANCELLED DUE TO COVID 19

CHAIRMANS REPORT

2021 was once again an unusual year. At our 2020 AGM we agreed our intention to hold a show as usual on the last Saturday of August 2021.

However in January 2021 it became increasingly apparent that Covid 19 would present too great a risk to the community and the potential government restrictions would present considerable difficulties in firmly committing to the work required to run the show. As such we unanimously agreed to cancel once again.

This proved to be a sensible decision. In making the decision at that time we were again able to avoid any costs associated with putting on a show. We also were able to avoid any unnecessary work either for ourselves or our clients.

As a consequence of not holding the Show we were sadly unable to raise money for the chosen charity for 2021, which was due to be Riding for the Disabled.

We remain fully committed to holding a show in 2022 if circumstances permit.

Section E Financial review Section E Financial review
Brief statement of the
charity’s policy on reserves
Details of any funds materially
in deficit
The Bilsdale Agricultural Show Society reserve is held in a
business bank account and used to pay for any necessary capital
investment.
In addition to this we hold a linked but separate current Community
account for the purpose of setting up and running the annual show.
Money will be transferred from the current account into our reserve
account when the balance exceeds the amount required for the
running of the annual show. This will be reviewed on an ongoing
basis by the treasurer and any transfers agreed by the trustees and
committee.
Small deficit due to maintenance spend and lack of show day and
sponsorship income

Further financial review details (Optional information)

Youmay chooseto include
additional information, where
relevant about:

the charity’s principal
sources of funds (including
any fundraising);

how expenditure has
supported the key objectives
of the charity;

investment policy and
objectives including any
ethical investment policy
adopted.
Our Primary source of income is from entry ticket / gate sales on
show day.
In addition we receive donations from individuals involved in the
show for example; competitors and local residents.
Lastly we are reliant on the incredible sponsorship and support
provided by local companies.
In 2021 due to the show cancellation because of Covid 19, no
monies or sponsorship were received in relation to a 2021 event.
Income came from outstanding invoices paid after the end of the
financial year.
