We portrayed local history from 1624 to the 19208 included enactrnent group workshops and our volunteers havg started lo research families who have lived al th& hall. Interest in the Hall has been maintained, and vlsitor numbers have been malntalned, particularly schools and families The visitors figures over the year were almost 10,000. We maintained our craft fairs and welcomed the Women's Institute. vlslts from camera clubs and sketchlng groups. Once again, we have increased our marks from the VAQAS Vlslt England Museum monltorlng system. In the pastwe have receivod tha Queens award for the Voluntary Service. Our small number of staff continue to keep the museum and its 8rtefacts al a high standard, publicise our actlvities, manage oiir wonderful volunteers, work closely with trust88s and build rglationships with business and the local community, The Museum still opens Sunday to Thursday each weak plus 8Xtra openings for schools, events and group visits. We are a member of the Associatlon of Independant Muséums and the Historic Houses Association. We are part ofthe Potteries Heritagg Network, a local museum umbrella group. Structure, governance and managomont Naturè of governing documant The charitable company is operated under the rules of its memorandum and artic19s of associalion adopted on 6th March 2012 and amended on 25th April 2014 and 8th October 2021. It Is a company Ilmll8d by guarantee and therefor8 has no sh8r8 capltal. The Ilablllty of each member in the ev8nt of winding-up is limited to £10. Recrultment and appolntment of trustees Overall manag8m8nl af the charilable company is the responsibility of the trustees. who are elected and Co-opted undèr the provisions of the memorandum of articles of association by a process of invilalion, advertlsement and Intervlew in accordance with sald memorandum of artlcl8s of association. New trustees are appointod by invitation from th8 existing board of trustees dependent on any skills which Ihg new potantial trustee has to offer and which the board feels that Iherg 18 8 lack of those skills within the charitable company.
