Warwickshire and Solihull Blood Bikes
RIDING TO SAVE LIVES
Year End Report April 2020 – March 2021
This year has presented the group with a whole new level of challenges which you the members have risen to the challenge and excelled.
Obviously this year on a financial basis because of Covid 19 we have not been able to fund raise In the normal way. However we have still received enormous support financially, with individuals selling T-shirts and raising over £1000, to Helen Gibson doing a 150km walk and again raising over £1000. Also we received a £10000 lottery grant, and a £10000 donation from SWFT.
Our new membership application did increase during this period by around 40% with people wanting to join and help the NHS. Our general customers still remain the same with Rugby St Cross / George Elliot / Warwick requiring around 70% of our services. This year we also started daytime working in supporting SWFT (South Warwickshire Foundation Trust) in delivering Chemotherapy medication to patients at home. Originally a 6 month trial which now become regular daily commitment.
Throughout this year we have replaced two motorcycles and also added a new Van to the fleet, this has been at a cost of £46,394 .
Overall donations are up on last year which is quite positive considering the difficult times we’ve endured over the last year.
In fiscal year 2019/20 donations were £44,840 in comparison fiscal year 2020/21 are £64,336 This is an increase of £19,496 on the previous fiscal year.
Including vat claims and the sale of the two bikes our available funds at the 31st of March 2021 are £92,384 . This is an increase from £76,285 in the previous fiscal year.
So on a positive note the group enters into a new financial year in the best position it’s ever been in, these funds will help with our future plans to evolve further and grow the group to provide further support to the NHS and our local community in Warwickshire and Solihull.
