Achievements and Performance SORP reference 2023 has been another very significant year for De Profundis. In the Spring we performed the 2rxJ concert and recorded the 2Tra CD in our 'Morales Project.. The concert was directed by Eamonn Dougan ffhe Sixteen). The music of this project is being newly- edited for each concert and is being perfomied according to principles of historically-infomied performance practi. This is an extremely ambitious project and has never been attempted before. Our aim is to raise the musical public's awareness and appreciation of the music of this master musician, and to expand the repertoire for future groups and performers. The music of each concert is being subsequently recorded for international release (and for posterity). This will allow the fruits of our project to be available to intemational music lovers and scholars in perpetuity. Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity's work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefrts to society as a whole. Para 1.20 In the Autumn we perfomied a concert of music by Palestrina, directed by the world renowned Andrew Parrott. We sang his famous Missa Papa Marcelli (Soriano double choir edition), also including music by Francisco Guerrero, Juan Esquivel. and Sebastian de Vivanco. December saw the choir perfomiing two concerts as part of the 3nl Annual Festival de Thomas Luis de Victoria, at the invitation of the festival. Both concerts were extremely well received, and the choir was directed b Robert Hollin worth. Invoices totalling £6,632 are outstanding at YE23. All invoices for the Morales CD2 project have been paid in 2023. totalling £17,830. The Morales Project cash flow has been fully modelled to ensure that the bank balance always remains positive, taking into account the time between project expendrture and income received after the CD Master has been made. There is outstanding income totalling 23,963 due to De Profundis which will be received in 2024. This is composed ot - 202212023 Gift Aid Claim: £916 - Hyperion contribution towards costs of Morales CD2 £3.000 - CEEH contribution towards costs of Morales CD2 É14,000 This is part of CEEH commitment to provide funding of É14,000 towards each of the 12 CD in the De Profundis Morales Project - É10,000 from Avila Town Council Once the outstanding income is receNed, and the outstanding invoices paid De Profundis will have cash fvnds of £20,469. De Profundis does not specifically hold serves, however aims to hold a minimum bank balance of £1,000 at any one time. Minimum balance is intended to guarantee that it is able to all invoices when due. De Profundis does not specifically hold financial reserves, but cash flow is managed to maintain a minimum bank balance of £1,000 as any one time. Independent examiner’s report to the trustees of De Profundis
I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the De Profundis (the Trust) for the year ended 31[st] December 2023.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the charity trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’). I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent examiner’s statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:

accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act; or
-
the accounts do not accord with those records; or
-
the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
