Achievements and Performance
SORP reference
2023 has been another very significant
year for De Profundis.
In the Spring we performed the 2rxJ concert
and recorded the 2Tra CD in our 'Morales
Project.. The concert was directed by
Eamonn Dougan ffhe Sixteen).
The music of this project is being newly-
edited for each concert and is being
perfomied according to principles of
historically-infomied performance practi￿.
This is an extremely ambitious project and
has never been attempted before. Our aim
is to raise the musical public's awareness
and appreciation of the music of this
master musician, and to expand the
repertoire for future groups and performers.
The music of each concert is being
subsequently recorded for international
release (and for posterity). This will allow
the fruits of our project to be available to
intemational music lovers and scholars in
perpetuity.
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity's work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefrts to society as a
whole.
Para 1.20
In the Autumn we perfomied a concert of
music by Palestrina, directed by the world
renowned Andrew Parrott. We sang his
famous Missa Papa Marcelli (Soriano
double choir edition), also including music
by Francisco Guerrero, Juan Esquivel. and
Sebastian de Vivanco.
December saw the choir perfomiing two
concerts as part of the 3nl Annual Festival
de Thomas Luis de Victoria, at the
invitation of the festival. Both concerts were
extremely well received, and the choir was
directed b Robert Hollin
worth.

## **Independent examiner’s report to the trustees of De Profundis**

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the De Profundis (the Trust) for the year ended 31[st] December 2023.

## **Responsibilities and basis of report**

As the charity trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’). I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

## **Independent examiner’s statement**

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:

1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act; or

2. the accounts do not accord with those records; or

3. the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
