This apptoach to the market has Fneant that wg have been able to contlnue to operate again th15 financAal year solely on a combln311on of fundraising and'paid for service" income. As prevlously staled in annual reports the providlng ol apparent choice for fund holding clientslpatsents Idue lo direct settlements) is a more inefficlent model than the ctrntral fundlng we had historically experienced. This is due lo th8 additlonal ov8rh6ad8 associat8d with th8 cli8nVprovid8r relalionshlp, su¢h 8$ attracting and billing 18nts, chasing debtors, logalhor wllh the upfront payment of our costs and Ihg subsequent impact on our cash flow. Also, there has been a need to develop partnw relationshlps such as OASS lo help signpost our services to potentlal users. Wo conlinus lo operate strict budgeting and financial controls, and we have been able lo achieve our objective5 whilst incT¢asing our r¢sorvos. Thcso rosorv88 will allow us lo in¢roaso our long-lorm strategic investments. To date this has meant a significant upgrade lo our main Centre wth the wovision of a Physioth8T8Py Gym. The Aetivity Énd Rehabilltation Centre {ARCI recently underwent slgnifieant rèfurbishment with improved insvlalion, acc8ss, and transformation of thB 8Xt8rn818ppe8ranc8. This provides our current clients with an exlIent space to uNlergo Ihglr r8h8blllt8llon and on-golng sociallsalion. Cxjr new resources lor physical rehabilitation continue to operate successfully and have prowded a suc¢8ssful and stlmulaling faclkty that Is extremely popular wlth our cllents. Having su08SlIY fundraised for the spociali81 Iherapy ar)d gym equipment we are oonsidering the best options to open this resource lo those affoctod by neurological or other health conditions within the rommunity who do not norTrtally access our services on the paid model. A8ld8 from th6 ARC, w6 contlnue lo ralse 8wa18nÈss of br81n Injury wlthln the communlty. and this has seen us making a gr8at* Impacl through our growlng 8vents cslendar and varfed media coverage. Finanelal Report Strict managemonl of costs and a focus on atlracting clients has ensured that our ¢ash reserves have been enhdnced and Lhis year's surplus has been directed to our new long-lerm investment plan aimed at g8herating eapltal rather than income. In accordance with our R8serv8s Policy and ongoing Business D8V81opm8nt Plannlng, the Trustaes and management team have identified a need for reserves at between 3-5 monlhs rtjnning ¢osls.

Meanwhile. due lo the development of our approach to re¢ording and Irlaging potential patients Isee below liguresl our ABI Navlgalors have seen a 5ignifi¢anl increase in the number of Identified individuals requiring support within thè hospltal setting. Our A81 Navigators. Sharon Bond and Mandy Warwick hava responded with berlous effort gnd ctsmmllmènt to en8b18 US to meet Ihls growing damand and our particular thanks go to them for thelr sterflng efforts. HRIRe¢rultmentistaffing There was higher than usual staff turnov8r whi¢h added pressure to an already difficult COVID year. The recruitmenl experience proved more difficult than ?ver, wllh a combln31ion of either low tevels andlor poor quality of appllcallons. Where we were able to recruit, we experienced comparallvely poor rel8ntion and 8nded up In a cycle of recruitm6nl tralning reslgnation.. adding expense and workload tts tsur exlsling 18am.
