How the charity is constituted - CIO
Trustee selection methods - Nomination/appointment by management committee
The charity is managed by a committee of 7 members, all of which are charity trustees. We sadly lost one of our committee members to cancer.
We hold monthly committee meetings which are minuted. Included on the agenda are items relating to the Village Hall itself and its ongoing maintenance, improvements for the local community; events and fund raising initiatives; and progress with any funding bids where applicable. One of our three local councillors usually attends the committee meeting to offer suggestions and guidance.
Objectives
The objectives of the charity are to maintain the village hall to enable us to provide facilities and provide activities in educational, social and cultural fields.
Summary of the main activities
The Trustees have had regard to the guidance on public benefit and consider this aspect when planning events and activities. We seek to understand the needs of our local residents and make provision for all, without discrimination, to be able to access the facilities and activities on offer. We aim to offer a range of activities and events that will draw people into the Village Hall, creating a community spirit and providing a focal point within the village where everyone is welcome. Regular activities include:
Yoga / chair yoga
Karate
Bootcamp
Monday Club (regular speakers)
Mill Motivators (health & wellbeing)
Play group (under 5’s)
Singing Group
Folk Club
Book Club
Weekly Coffee morning.
Community groups who use the hall pay small subscriptions in order to keep them affordable and accessible to all.
We encourage the use of the hall for charity and fundraising events.
The hall is hired regularly for birthday parties, funerals etc.
