This included a very generous individual donation of £5,000 towards a new piano for the music department. Voluntary donations are a150 received from sixth form parents forthe benefit of 5iXth form activities and for the financtal year 2023/24 totalled £2,520. Gift Aid can be claimed on a significant number of these donations. The music department organised several music concerts throughout the year which raised a total of £6.249.18 (before costs) for the benefit of music activtties Within the school. During the year, the school received donations of £10.360.19 from the Langton Family Association (LFA), who fundraise on behalf of the school. In addition to fundraising for the school, other fundraising activities for various charities were held. This year Money was raised for Macmillan, Catching Lives, Children in Need, Red Cross, Black Minds Matter, Kent Refugee Action Network, Music for Change, National Autistic Society and AKT-LBGQT. In particular, the annual sponsored walk raised £10,056.21 of which 50% went to the school and 50% to other charities. The balance of the fund at 31" March 2024 was £271,334.95. The balance includes money from two lar8e legacies which are held within the fund and the year- end value of these is as follows: G Thorpe Estate Edmondson Noakes Legacy £90,714.00 £78,895.60 There are also funds to the value of £48,041.14 which are reserved for specific activities. Structure Governance & Mana ement th The charity is governed by its constitution adopted on 10 October 2013 and Trustees are appointed by the Governing body of Simon Langton Grammar School for Girls. Chari Ob'ectives To advance the education of pupils at Simon Langton Girls Grarnmar School by providing and assisting in the provision of facilities (not required to be provided by the local education authority) for education at the school.

PAGE 3 INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES OF SIMON LANGTON GIRLS GRAMMAR SCHOOL FUND FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2024 I report on the accounts of Simon Langton Girls Grammar School Voluntary Fund for the year ended 31 March 2024 which comprise the summary of accounts Statement. Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner The schools governing body is responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The governing body consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 {"the Charitie5 Act") and that an independent examination is needed. It is my responsibility to: examine the accounts under section 145 of the Charities Act; to follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commission {under section 145(5llbl of the Charities Act, and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention. Basis of independent examinerfs statement My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting record5 kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and the seeking of explanations from the trustee5 concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fair, view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below. Independent exarnlnerfs statement In connection with my examination, no material matters have come to my attention which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect: the accounting records were not kept in accordance with Section 130 of the Charities Act,. or the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charitie5 {Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a 'true and fairf view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination. I have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
