Activities
An Almshouse Charity, founded in 1529 for the relief of poverty, became a CIO April 2014. Area of operation is limited to Derby. Focus is assisting older people primarily through direct provision of housing. Small grants to relieve need are also available to a broader age range. We manage four almshouse estates for people aged 60 or over, and run a 40-bed Residential Home for frail older people.
Objects: To Provide Relief Either Generally Or Individually To Those Persons Resident In The Area Of Benefit Who Are In Need, Hardship Or Distress (including But Not Limited To Those Who Are Aged, Sick Or Infirm) Through The Provision Of Grants, Alms Or Other Residential Accommodation, Housing, Services, Facilities And/or Goods.the Area Of Benefit Means That Area Administered By Derby City Council.
