This resulted in a net surplus for the year of £80,854. After transfers between funds this resulted in a surplus in unrestricted general funds of £32,238, 8 surplus in design8lad funds of £719 and 8 surplus of £47,897 in raslricled funds. The company was established undor a Memorandum of Association which established the objects and powers ol the charitable company and is governed under ils Articles of Association. Accountlng conventlon The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the charitable company's governing document, the Companies Act 2006 and 'A¢counling and RetM)rting by Charities.. Ststemenl of R8commended Practi¢8 appli¢abl8 to ¢hariti8s preparing their 8¢counls in accordance with th& Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland published in October 2019".The charitable company is a Public Benefit Entity as defined by FRS 102. The financial ststements 8ra prepared in sterling, which is the functional currency of the charitsble company. The fSnancial statements have been prep8red under the hSslorical cost convenlSon, modSfied to include certaSn items al fair value. Thè principal aecounling policies adopted are set out below. 1.2 Golng Concern Al the Ilme of approvlng Ihe flnanclal slal8menls, Ihe InJ8lees hav8 a r88sonable expectallon that the charitable company has adequate resources lo continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. Thus the trustees contlnut lo adopt the golng concern basis of accounling in preparing the financial statements. 1.3 Charltable funds Unreslricled funds are available for use al the discretion of the Iruslees in furtherance of their charitable objectives. Designated funds comprise funds which have been s81 asid8 at the discretion of the Iruste8s for specific purposes. The purposes and uses ol the designated funds are sel out in the notes lo the financial slalemenls. Restricted funds are subject lo specific conditions by donors as to how they may be used. Income Income is recognised when the charitable company is legally entitled to it aft8r any p8rfomianc8 conditions hav8 b88n met, the amounts can be measLJred reliably, and it is probable that income will be re￿ived. In-kind donations are only included in income where the benefit lo the Charity is reasonably quantifiable, measurable and material. The value placed on Ih8se r8sourc8S is the estimated value to the Charity ol th8 service or laGilily reG8iv8d. 1.3 Exp•nditur• Expenditure is recognised on an accruals basis when a liability is incurred. Expenditure includes any VAT which cannot be fully recovered, and is included as part of the expenditure to whiGh il relates. Charitable gxpgnditurg comprises those ¢osls incurred by the Charity in the delivery of ils activities and services for its beneficiarie5.11 includes both the direGt C05t5 and support costs relating 10 Such aclivilies. In the event of the charity being wound up, the liability in respect of the guarantee is limiled lo £1 per member of the charity. Critical accounting estimates and judgements In the application of the Charitable company's accounting policies, the trustees are required lo make judgements, eslimales and assumptions about the carrying amount of assets and liabilities that are not readily apparent from other sources. The estimates and associated assumptions are based on historical experience and other factors that are considered lo be relevant. Actual results may differ from these estimates. The estimates and undedying assumptions are reviewed on an ongoing basis.
