1 Direct Charitable Objective Activities
‘Paddle Power’ regular coaching sessions for juniors, on river and in pool
British Canoeing Awards (Start, Discover and Explore)
Bellboat use by various community members including Lea Green
Outdoor Activity Centre and Derbyshire Scouts.
Provision of facilities for Viking Canoe Polo Club (weekly sessions)
Training for coaches & volunteers to accommodate less able paddlers.
British Canoeing Paddle-Ability Award gained by 4 club members. Hoist
training (to accommodate less able paddlers) provided to approximately
10 club members.
Creation of the George P Bazeley Youth Trust Fund, to extend canoeing
activities to those with financial hardship
Membership availability for members of the community, with numerous
‘taster’ sessions provided for non-members.
Pool and river sessions delivered to local charity group Aspire 2 Succeed.
2 Member and Club Activities
Sea Kayaking trips to Anglesey, Wales
Club participation in River Derwent clean up events (x2).
Various replacements of club equipment, including the purchase of 6
boats for use by 12-16 year olds through Paddle Power
Weekly coached sessions: indoor pool throughout the autumn /winter
period / outdoor river throughout spring / summer.

Note 1 - Basis of Accounting

In the year ending 31.08.23 the receipts were less than £100,000 so the charity has adopted a receipts and payments basis of accounting.

Note 2 - Restricted Funds

£500 was received to support the cost associated with disability paddling at the club. £355 of this funding is included as restricted fund payments in the year. Restricted fund payments also includes £138 on a grant received from Sport England in previous years.
