During this period the Truslees made four grant awards in May 2023 to applicants tolalling £12,500 who were able to provide details ol specific projects and those projects satisfied the Trust's charitable objectives. The Trustees concenlrated on applicalions that would support specilic projects where the invilee had an urgent need and where funds had already been raised or earmarked. In running the Trust and planning Ihe grant awards the Trustees have given careful consideration lo the Charity Commission's guidance on Public Benefit. The Trustees, after careful consideration. reviewed Ihe charities they have previously worked with who were slill aclively involved with the projects they had recivod funding for and decided thai they wished to provide them with a notional award and reminding them out the Chapman Animal Trust ability. Accumulalively this meant that a further £4,750 was awarded. This was well received buy the charities. Additional detalls of objeclives and actlvltles (Optlonal Informatlon) During the pandemic Ihe Trustees made it more accessible to charities to make applications regardless of when they had madc a previous application. This was lo ensure Ihal charilies who provide significant care to animals in Norfolk and suff ered because ol raising charitable lunds with the change in how cash is used, slore openings and general events. The above flexibility continues dependent upon the project that is being requested. On occasion the Iruslees hold the funds requesled in that round of award granting and requesi further details of the project before making the award.
