Our Aduli Day Centre re]￿aIned open 9 10 4, five day5 a week providing our five-fold programme of activities linked to eld¢r3 maintaining their independenc4 dignity and self-respecl: (i). group exercises to stimiilate the mind, e.g. arts & crdft classes, regular quiz, reminiscing and Inernory sessions. (ii). group exercises to help physical fitness and promote h¢althy lifcstyl¢s. c.g. seatd exercise ¢lass¢s - plus professional talks, ¢.g. by the Alzheimer's Society. etc (iii). group rccre8tion&l activities. e.g. bingo, day trips, etc (iv). nutritious m¢als: culturally and dietsry sensitive lunches prepared on-slte by our chef. Our twice weekly seatsd exeTcise Classes and weekly 'Music, Memory and Movement, sessions run for us by KORA rcmained very popular with elders. Elders converse at them, reminisce. laugh. and dance. They forni new friendship groups and feel energised. CACFO would like to thank Ziirich Comrnunity Tn￿t {zcr) for its financial sponsorship during 2024125 - and Zurich's local staff for volunteering to do prujects at CACFO under 7cr's Summer Challenges and Winl'cr Challenges. This financial help was vital to the viability of CACFO'S Music, Mcmory and Movement, scssionq and keeping CACFQ'S MirLibus Service runnin& following its r¢intriKluction after Shutdown during Covid. We a180 thank Croydon 60+ Benevolent Fund Ltd for its financial donation to this work and staff at Croydon Primark. Primark's staff also donated practical Christmas gifts for CACFO'S eldws, whether bought themselves or collected from custonier5 at a cliarity display they placed, supportcd by manageinent, front of sto CACFO would also like to thank the Windrush Justice Programme for ils sponsorship of our Windrush Compensation Surgeries, run with Mandala Community Services, to help local cldcrs and others affected by the ongoing Windru¥h Scanthl. CACFO held a wonderful Windrush 75 celebration on 22 June 2024 with spDn50r51iip from The Albert Hunt Trust. Held in CACFO'5 Windnish Gardgn, with its theme of 'Our Pioneers, Our Heroes, Our Contriblltion,, Croydon w1ndn￿h elders, their dc5cendants and others came together at this milestune date to celebrate the contribiition th8t tkey and other Caribbean men and women have mad4 and contTnue to make. to Britian's wellbeing. CACFO. as ever, ran & Summtr School. Unfortunately. this was smaller than usual as absence of Local Council funding for our charity in 2024 meant charging for student places. CACFO'S Domino Club remained active thtY)ughout 2024125 Ineeting three evening5 per week and proving &n ever-popular draw for the local community. Th¢ Manag¢m¢nt Coinmittee is gratsful to CACI;O's team of volunteers who gave senerously of ih¢ir time in support of our small team of regular slaff.
