Para 1.17 | At Street Football Wales (SFW) we offer opportunityfor people who have been socially isolated and excluded, by providing an open, inclusive and safe environment to come and play football, make friends, build self- confidence and to support them on their own personal journeys. We will do this by building a community around football, that includes our players, referees, volunteers, our sponsors, supporters and followers. We believe that everyone’s journey is different, and so we place our players, referees and volunteers at the heart of our organisation, participating in our service delivery and design ensuring our work is based around their needs. We offer the opportunity to shape, and be a part of something positive, communal and fun, providing a constant in people’s lives, and an escape from sometimes chaotic and difficult circumstances. Our approach to our work, is asset based, building on resilience, independence and capacity across our community. We will provide a sustainable service for our community, one that has high impact, for low costs and thatcontributes to shared outcomes with our partners delivered in a professional environment. |

Para 1.20 | At Street Football Wales (SFW), our vision is of a fair and inclusive Wales and our mission is to use football, to create positive social change in Wales. We offer opportunity for people who have been socially isolated and excluded, by providing an open, inclusive and safe environment to come and play football, make friends, build self-confidence and to support people on their own personal journeys. We do this by building a community around football, that includes our players, referees, volunteers, our sponsors, supporters and followers. April 2023 to March 2024 was a period of opportunity and development for SFW, but also one of change and potential opportunity. The highlight of the year was SFW taking two teams to Sacramento in the USA toparticipate |
in the Homeless World Cup, one of only a handful of teams selected to take a male and a female team to participate. Whilst international tournaments were a highlight, SFW was keen to bring its activities to local communities too. SFW ran several inclusion based tournaments in both North Wales (Rhyl) and South Wales (Swansea). Inclusion tournaments were held in September and November 2023, and March 2024 attracted approximately 60 participants per tournament. SFW has continued its strong female sport and representation during this period too, with weekly sessions for women only throughout the year. In November and December 2023, Women only Games Nights were held as the culmination of this project.
