Objectives and Activities

SORP reference
Summary of the purposes of

governing document
Para 1.17 At Street Football Wales (SFW) we offer
opportunityfor people who have been socially
isolated and excluded, by providing an open,
inclusive and safe environment to come and
play football, make friends, build self-
confidence and to support them on their own
personal journeys. We will do this by building a
community around football, that includes our
players, referees, volunteers, our sponsors,
supporters and followers.
We believe that everyone’s journey is
different, and so we place our players, referees
and volunteers at the heart of our
organisation, participating in our service
delivery and design ensuring our work is based
around their needs. We offer the opportunity
to shape, and be a part of something positive,
communal and fun, providing a constant in
people’s lives, and an escape from sometimes
chaotic and difficult circumstances.
Our approach to our work, is asset based,
building on resilience, independence and
capacity across our community. We will
provide a sustainable service for our
community, one that has high impact, for low
costs and thatcontributes to shared outcomes
with our partners delivered in a professional
environment.

a fair and inclusive Wales and our mission is to
use football, to create positive social change in
Wales. We offer opportunity for people who
have been socially isolated and excluded, by

April 2022- March 2023 was an exciting period
for Street Football Wales seeing growth,
development, and innovation.
Street Football Wales has used this time
effectively to expand geographically to reach
more sociallyexcluded individuals.

Street Football Wales has delivered football inclusion sessions in Swansea, Newport, Cardiff, Tylorstown, Merthyr Tydfil, Treforest, Rhyl and Haverfordwest. Street Football Wales has engaged over 370 people and delivered more than 200 inclusion sessions. Street Football Wales also hosted several tournament events including the first ever tournaments in Haverfordwest and North Wales allowing participants from across Wales to come together to celebrate their mutual love for football. These tournaments have become an invaluable part of the SFW calendar. This year we also played our first every 11 a side matches, a charity match, and a match for Show Racism the Red Card. It was a great opportunity to raise money and awareness, although it gave us the opportunity to introduce our players to a different format of football. Street Football Wales has also been active on the international stage with both Welsh men’s and Women’s squads participating in the “Nations Cup” hosted by our partner Street Soccer Scotland. The Tournament provided the opportunity for 8 male and 8 female participants to represent Wales at the highest level of Street Football against nations from across Europe. Our Bespoke Women’s only project has seen extraordinary growth with 123 of our participants being female. This is largely due to our bespoke women only project and the use of female only coaching session.

challenges for the charity, as reflected in
the delay completing submitting report. The

Independent Examiner's Report to the Trustees of Street Football Wales

I report to the charity trustees on my examination of the accounts of the charity for the year ended 31 March 2023.

Responsibilities and basis of report

As the charity’s trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’).

Email: mail@wbv.ltd.uk www.wbv.ltd.uk also at: Woodfield House Castle Walk Neath SA11 3LN

Tel: 01639 635555

I report in respect of my examination of the charity’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

Independent examiner's statement

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:

  1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the charity as required by section 130 of the Act; or

  2. the accounts do not accord with those records; or

  3. the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair view’ which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
