Para 1.20 | At Street Football Wales (SFW), our vision is of a fair and inclusive Wales and our mission is to use football, to create positive social change in Wales. We offer opportunity for people who have been socially isolated and excluded, by providing an open, inclusive and safe environment to come and play football, make friends, build self- confidence and to support people on their own personal journeys. We do this by building a community around football, that includes our players, referees, volunteers, our sponsors, supporters and followers. Introduction: Over the past 12 months Street Football Wales continued to adapt to the ever-changing Covid- 19 pandemic and carefully negated a series of national and regional lockdowns. Street Football Wales delivered a variety of online engagement classes and supported its |
volunteers and players through online meetings, fun activities and training courses. This adaption was due to the around Covid-19. Following a new set of return-to-play rules, Street Football Wales delivered face to face football session across its delivery sites of Swansea, Cardiff and Newport and when Covid19 rules deemed safe to do so. Our sessions followed our Covid-19 safe format that included sanitise stations, temperature checks, track and trace, covid questionnaire and social distancing. This new adapted model was well received by all involved and provided our beneficiaries with the football sessions they had been longing for through the pandemic. This year has also seen Street Football Wales’ first women’s only development programme started in Cardiff. This session is a women’s only session delivered by female coaches specifically. This session has also been supported by Street Football Wales Ambassador Loren Dykes MBE. During this period Street Football Wales delivered an excess of 100 sessions across Swansea, Cardiff, Newport and online ensuring our beneficiaries were always connected to Street Football Wales. We have registered more than 100 players throughout the year. Street Football Wales has expanded it volunteer programme by creating new positions within the charity. New roles include; media assistants, partnership volunteer, female only coach and social media content creator/ graphic designer. Through these new roles Steet football Wales has increase its volunteer capacity and offered new opportunities. We have also partnered with new training organisations to offer a wide variety of course or our volunteer team Following a player-led rebrand of Street Football Wales we have updated all of our media platforms in line with its new brand image. We have improved our online visibility by posting regularly and engaging with our partners online. Street Football Wales has reviewed all policies and procedure in line with current legislation. We have also recruited a full time Development officer to delivery the day-to-day Street Football
sessions across South Wales. The Street Football Wales Board of Trustees meets on a monthly basis to ensure the charity delivers upon its objectives.
