SORP reference
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.
Para 1.20 During 2024/25, the pre-school had 41
children enrolled and continued to
receive a steady flow of enquiries, with
morning sessions fully booked and only
a limited number of afternoon sessions
available.
In 2024/25, the pre-school recorded a
surplus of £14,659. As a charitable
organisation, the pre-school is run for the
benefit of the community, and all income
is reinvested into the setting to support
and enhance daily operations.
We are continually grateful for the
dedication and hard work of the team,
who make the setting a safe, educational,
and enjoyable place for the children.
During the last financial year, we were
delighted to receive funding to replace
the decking at the rear of the pre-school.
This improvement allows us to provide
safe outdoor play opportunities for
children in most weather conditions. In
addition, the pre-school garden was
jointly awarded the Goudhurst in Bloom
Commercial Garden Award, recognising
the care and quality of our outdoor
environment.
The pre-school continues to support
children with special educational needs
and/or disabilities (SEND) and works
closely with other agencies where
necessary to ensure the highest
standards of early years educational
support. All staff are committed to
continuous professional development in

this area; however, we would like to give particular recognition to our SEND Lead for her outstanding dedication and hard work. This year, she was successful in securing an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) for one of the children, an excellent achievement that will have a significant positive impact on the child’s wellbeing and development.

The trustee team continue to support the work of the pre-school and we currently have 4 in the team.
