Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document

We are a scout group who was founded in 1908 and cover all sections of the scouting movement. These are beavers, cubs and scouts. We cover a broad range of activities involving community projects, the health and well being and development of young through a structured system which has been proven over the last 100 years.

In a normal year, the Beaver, Cub & Scout sections meet on a weekly basis throughout the school term times to have fun & learn a wide variety

of different things in a safe environment.

The sections do traditional scouting activities like fire lighting, pioneering, camping, hiking, map reading and general enjoyment of immersion in the outdoors.

At the same time they learn about being part of a team, and, as they progress through the sections, about leading, teaching & taking responsibility for the younger members of their Patrol or Six (in Cubs).

They all had packed & varied programmes. Nights away, cooking, camp fires, winter group camp and many many more to give as wide & varied experiences as possible, with a few core scouting skills.

This was done without any major accidents or incidents.

The number of members and the waiting lists are testament to the popularity of the programmes.

This is as a result of the massive amount of time & effort from the leadership teams.

In addition:

Finances have remained undercontrol.

We have continued to maintain the scout hut & build the new massive shed. Walls are up. Roof on. Walls need cladding. All done by us volunteers.

Due to no minibuses for hire in the local area, with the help of a local garage & some very generous people, we bought a second hand minibus that had done <40K miles.

We now loan this at a rate to recover some of the cost to local, not for profit organisations.

Overall we keep progressing.

Stay in the black. If we drop below £3000 the Treasurer warns the team and we react. This has not occurred in the last year.

If there were to be an emergency major cost that we could not fund ourselves, we would turn to the Scout Association for assistance.
