In a normal year, the Beaver, Cub & Scimjt sections meet on a weekly basis throughout the schcK)I term times to have fun & leam a wide variety of different things in a safe environment. The sections do traditsonal scouting activities like fire lighting, pioneering, camping. hiking. map reading and generdl enjoyment of immersion in the outdoors. At the same time they leam about being part of a team, and, as they progress through the sections. about leading. teaching & taking responsitrmlity for the younger member5 of their Patrol or Six (in Cubs). Summary ofthe maln activlties undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include withln thls section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard lo tho guidance issued by the Charlty Commission on public beneflt) In addition the trustees ensure the scout hut is maintained and improved for future generations. A significant amount of work was undertaken in this area in 2020 to replace and move the toilets and kitchen and build a new extension to the front of the huL The hut is also used by the Buxion Expk)rer Scout section and available for other community groups. ection D Achievements and performance Summary ofthe main achievements of the charity during the year The main achievement of the charity during the year was to manage lo provide at least a partial program of activities during the Covid crisis. Each section has remained largely full throughout the year, even though activities have been significantly feV￿r than in normal years. The second achievement was to finish the kitchen refurbishment and make significant progress with the extension at the front of the hut, which also contains new toilets and showers.
