Section C Objectives and activities
The CIO's objects are restricted to the fostering of the public's knowledge, experience and appreciation of chamber music and thereby the advancement of the arts, culture and education for the public benefit, including by means of: (a) organising an annual public festival of chamber music concerts in the town of Lewes, East Sussex, and the surrounding area; Summary of the objects of the (b) organising public concerts of chamber music elsewhere in England charity set out in its and Wales; governing document (c) organising performances of chamber music for school children in Lewes and the surrounding area; and (d) providing opportunities to students of music who have demonstrably excelled in their art to perform in concerts of chamber music alongside professional musicians.

Section D Achievements and performance

The 2021 Festival went ahead with appropriate Covid-19 measures in place and reduced audience numbers. The 2022 Festival is planned to go ahead with a return to pre-Covid arrangements.

| I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31stAugust 2020. As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”). I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. |
