The Charty achieves ils objectives by holding seminars and conferences lo promote best educational practice. The Trustees have paid due regard lo guidance issued by the Charity Commission in deciding what aLtivilies the Charity should undertake. Achievements and perforniance This period the charity's expenditure exceeded income and there is a deficit for the year. The Iruslees are pleased with the results for the year. The charity is pleased with ils achievement in supporting school improvements and facilitating the professional development Df staff.. The company's achievement for the year has been to maintain a successful track record wth our schools continuing to work together to secure on-going improvement. 96Q/o of our schools were judged good or better at their latest Ofsled inspection. Training has been accessed for all teachers and senior leaders in school lo further develop their skills in the planning, implemenlalion and assessment of the curriculum and il's delivery in an attempt to secure the highest quality of education for our pupils. The company's future plans are to secure excellent teaching and lèadership across the company, with a relentless drive for a first class education and improved outcomes for the pupils in all our schools. Through continued challenge and support. we will further promote school improvement and raised standards for our children, which is ultimately our fundamental purpose and moral responsibility lo those families and children in our care. Flnanclal revlew The Iruslees have no fomial policy to maintain a level of reserves however they are conscious of their responsibilities and monitor the level of reserves lo ensure the charity can meet ils liabilities. During the period, the charty made a deficrft of £13,121. At the ￿riod end, the reserves were £46,027 (2021 £59,148).

Structure, governance and management

The company was incorporated at Companies House on 30 March 2011 and was registered as a charity with the Charity Commission on 14 January 2013. It commenced its activities on 9 June 2011. The charity is a company limited by guarantee and is governed by its Memorandum and Articles of Association (as amended by special resolution). The company provides a support service to a cluster of schools.

Trustees are elected by members of the charity in General meeting. Trustees hold office until the Annual General Meeting when Trustees can offer themselves for re-election or re-appointment.

The Trustees delegate the daily running of the Charity to the Project Manager, Mrs A Davies, who acts as Charity Co-ordinator, and her support staff. The charity is considered to be under the control of the Board of Trustees as a whole.

The chair of the Trustees is responsible for the induction of any new trustee which involves awareness of a trustee's responsibilities, the governing document, administrative procedures and the history and philosophical approach of the charity. A new trustee would receive copies of the previous year's annual report and accounts, and a copy of the Charity Commission leaflet 'The Essential Trustee: What You Need to Know'.

The Trustees, who are also the directors for the purpose of company law, and who served during the period and up to the date of signature of the financial statements were:

TO THE TRUSTEES OF LEIGH, LOWTON AND GOLBORNE SCHOOLS PARTNERSHIP

I report to the Trustees on my examination of the financial statements of Leigh, Lawton and Golbome Schools Partnership (the Charity) for the period ended 31 August 2022.

Responsibilities and basis of report

As the Trustees of the Charity (and also its directors for the purposes of company law) you are responsible for the preparation of the financial statements in accordance with the requirements of the Companies Act 2006 (the 2006 Act).

Having satisfied myself that the financial statements of the Charity are not required to be audited under Part 16 of the 2006 Act and are eligible for independent examination, I report in respect of my examination of the Charity's financial statements carried out under section 145 of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act). In carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act.

Leigh, Lancashire, WN7 2AS. 1.1 Accounting convention The financial slalements have been prepared In accordance with the Charity's governing document, the Companies Act 2006 and 'Accounling and Reporting by Charities." Statement of Recommended Practice applicable lo charities preparing their accounts In accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021" las amended for accounting periods commencing from 1 January 20161. The Charity is a Public Benefit Entity as defined by FRS 102. The Charity has taken advantage of the provisions in the SORP for charities applying FRS 102 Update Bulletin 1 not to prepare a Statement of Cash Flows. The financial slalements are prepared in sterfing, which is the functional currency of the Charity. Monetary amounts in these financial stslemenls are rounded to the nearest £. The financial slalements have been prepared under the historical cost convention. The principal accounting policies adopted are sel out below. 1.2 Going concern Al the lime of approving the financial slatemenls, the Trustees have a ￿aSonable expectation that the Charity has adequate resources lo continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. Thus the Trustees continue to adopt the going concern basis of accounting in preparing the financial ststemenls. 1.3 Charitable funds Unrestricted funds are available for use al the discretion of the Trustees in furtherance of their charitable objectives. Restricted funds are subject to specific conditions by donors as to how they may be used. The purposes and uses of the restricted funds are set out in the notes to the finanaal statements. 1.4 Income Income is recognised when the Charity is legally enlilled to it after any performance conditions have been met, the amounts can be measured reliably, and it is probable that income ￿ll11 be re￿ived. Cash donations are recognised on receipt. Other donations are recognised once the Charity has been notified of the donation, unless perfomance conditions require deferral of the amount. Tumover is measured al the fair value of the consideration received or receivable and represents amounts receivable for goods and setvices provided in the normal course of business.

Financial instruments are recognised in the Charity's balance sheet when the Charity becomes party to the conlraclual provisions of the inslrumenl. Financial assets and liabilities are offset. with the net amounts presented in the financial statements. when there is a legally enforceable right to sel off the recognised amounts and there is an intention to settle on a net basis or to realise the asset and setue the liability simultaneously.
