Membership to Tamu Samaj UK (TSUK) is open to everyone. The trustees oversee the day to day operations of the organisation and official trustees also act as signatories. The trustees seek the views of members and volunteers in deciding the activities to carry out. There are Health & Safety, Equality & Diversity, Insurance, policies in place including licensing protocols. All trustees give their time voluntarily and receive no remuneration or other benefits.

The meetings are run by The President and attended by the trustees and members.

REPORT AND RECORDS OF TAMU SAMAJ UK FUND RAISING PROJECTS & EVENTS.

Tamu Samaj UK (TSUK) is continuously collecting donations towards a permanent and sustainable community centre. This will also serve the growing number of retired Nepalese. We want to provide a place that is safe for them to travel, socialise and once again be part of a familiar community they left behind when moving from Nepal to UK.

TSUK need an administrative office space to run daily business and to coordinate charity and community programme regularly, therefore we are focused to raise donation for a multipurpose, permanent and sustainable community centre. During this reporting period, TSUK has organised various meetings, interaction, fundraising and community programmes for the benefit of the members and wider public as shown below;

TAMU SAMAJ UK'S 14TH ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING AND 6TH CONVENTION 2021 WAS HELD ON SUNDAY, 27 JUNE 2021, AT TAMU SAMAJ UK NEPALESE COMMUNITY CENTRE BARHAM PARK WEMBLEY LONDON. At the end of the program's first phase, after discussing and deciding some of the issues raised during the speaking of the members, Chairman Shiva Chandra Gurung gave a thank you speech and announced the end of the term of the fifth executive committee. The Election Committee 2021 was chaired by Lt (Retd) Tham Prasad Gurung, and the programme was conducted by election committee secretary Mr Arjun Kumar Gurung. Following an election process, Tamu Samaj UK 6th Working Committee Election Committee 2021 announced the result of the formation of the 6th Executive Committee. Mr Kedar Bahadur Gurung was a member of the Committee. The newly formed Tamu Samaj UK 6th Working Committee has been selected for various positions, as mentioned below. The Chairman 3 x Vice Chairperson, General Secretary, Treasurer, Secretary, joint treasurer, coordinator media secretary and 26 Committee members. The 6th Executive Committee members and committee members enthusiastically participated in the election of the sixth working committee Chairman, and election committee Chairman Lt (Retd) Tham Prasad Gurung expressed his gratitude to everyone for enthusiastically participating in the Sixth Working Committee Election and making the Election 2021 of Tamu Samaj UK a grand success. The Chairman of the election committee welcomed the newly elected office bearers in the programme. The fifth executive committee handed over the constitution of the organisation, and the Chairman of the newly elected sixth executive Committee handed over the organisation's plaque to each other. While giving his speech, Shivakumar Gurung, the Chairman of the newly elected sixth working Committee, expressed his happiness for being elected by the general assembly and his sincere thanks to everyone. TAMU SAMAJ UK HELD A WELCOME AND FAREWELL EVENT ON SUNDAY, 1ST AUGUST 2021, AT ITS COMMUNITY BUILDING IN WEMBLEY. Ceremony was held to thank all the members of the fifth executive committee, including the advisors, farewell and new trustee members, advisors and welcome the new sixth working committee. Solicitor Raju Thapa, the society's legal advisor, and Kashiraj Bohora, the engineering consultant, were also honoured. At the event, the Founder President Chitra Bahadur Gurung, the current President ShivaKumar Gurung, the current President of Ama Group, Mrs Umadevi Gurung and the former president of Ama Group, Mrs Maya Gurung, presented the letter of appreciation. At the end of the formal program, President Shivakumar Gurung expressed his gratitude to all those who donated to help the victims who became homeless after the heavy rains that fell on the night of 15[th] June 2021 in Nepal Lamjung’s Dordi river. The organisation managed to raise three hundred and fifty thousand rupees to support the landslide victims of Lamjung. President Shivakumar Gurung thanked and congratulated the fifth working committee, former President Shiva Chandra Gurung, Vice President Kanya Prasad Gurung, and all other officials for delivering numerous successful events during their tenure. Similarly, he welcomed all the newly elected official, trustees and advisors nominated by the sixth executive committee. The sixth working committee, under the leadership of Chairman Shivakumar Gurung, also expressed the commitment to take the organization to greater heights with new enthusiasm and vision while continuing the various current programs. During his speech, the outgoing president Shiva Chandra Gurung said that his working committee was successful because of the tireless work and honesty of all, including the mother group, housing committee, youth committee, advisors, and committee officials. TAMU SAMAJ UK PARTICIPATED IN THE 12TH NEPALI FAIR ON 29 AUGUST 2021. Organized by Tamu Dhee UK, Tamu Samaj UK participated in the Nepali Mela 2021 event held at Kempton Park Racecourse London on Sunday 29 August 2021. We performed a show reflecting Nepali art and culture and performing Krishna

(Chalitra) character dance.Through the tableau presented in Tamu costume, the Nepali community has been witnessing the loss of family members who have to travel abroad for a long time due to various circumstances in the Nepali community.

It was organized to present through song and music the grief of the family members who had to go abroad for a long time and be separated from the family for a long time.

Tamu Samaj UK would like to express its sincere gratitude to the organizers of the Nepali Mela, Tamu Dhee Association UK and the Nepali Embassy in the UK, as well as all the organizations participating in the 12th Nepali (Mela) fair.

Following are the details of pre-preparation and expenses for the participation of Tamu Samaj UK in the 12[th] Nepali (Mela)fair 2021.

  2. Expenditure on Nepali Meal participants :£1545.00

  3. Donation to Tamu Dhee Association UK : £1001.00

  4. Total liabilities on the Nepali Mela programme 2021were £690.00

TAMU SAMAJ UK FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO THE DIAMOND BUDDHIST CENTRE UK ON 16[TH] AUG 2021.

The Dimond Buddhist centre letter appealed for financial support for purchasing the Buddhist (gumba) Monastery on 31 July 2021.

According to your letter regarding the financial support, the Tamu Samaj UK Executive committee meeting has been held. We have asked the advisors and executive committee members to support Diamond Buddhist Centre UK financially. To help Diamond Buddhist Centre, executive members started collecting financial assistance until Sunday, 15[th] August 2021. Many members of Tamu Samaj UK participated in the financial support of the purchase of the Diamond Buddhist Centre’s property in the UK.

A total of £1,902 pounds was deposited in the account of Diamond Buddhist Centre UK. The President and all the members of the Executive Committee and members of the Tamu Samaj UK family would like to congratulate Diamond Buddhist Centre UK for successfully purchasing the building for the monastery in Charlton London.

A GRAND TEEJ 2021 EVENT WAS HELD IN LONDON BY TAMU SAMAJ UK MOTHER GROUP ON 11[TH] SEPTEMBER 2021.

The Ladies Night and Haritalika Teej event was organized by Tamu Samaj UK Mothers Group on the occasion of Teej, the great festival of women, on Saturday 11th September 2021, at Tamu Samaj UK Nepalese community centre Barham Park Wembley London. The Ladies' Night and Teej 2021 special programme was conducted by Mrs Meera Gurung, Secretary of Mother's Group.

Likewise, Mathura Devi Gurung, Vice chairperson of Mother Group, gave a welcome speech and Uma Devi Gurung, Chairperson of Mother Group, gave a thank you speech. Ms Biba Gurung, Treasurer of Aama Group, was organised Ladies Night and Teej in the event.

In the program, the treasurer of the mother group, Biba Gurung, read out the names of everyone, expressing gratitude to the donors who supported and sponsored the Ladies Night and Teej programs in various ways.

Tamu Samaj UK President ShivaKumar Gurung, founder president Chitra Bahadur Gurung and other former presidents and executive committee members management of the hall decoration and food and beverage management in the event dedicated to the ladies.

This ladies' night and Teej event, which was organized after a long time due to the covid epidemic, was attended by the mothers and sisters of Tamu Samaj UK and the Nepalese people around London Wembley who were dressed in the same red Nepali Dhaka Sari.

In the Teej program, which started at 2 o'clock in the day, the mother, sister and sisters enjoyed eating delicious food and dancing to the Teej DJ of Bishal Tamang until 10 p.m. Santos Gurung catered for the event.

TAMU SAMAJ UK 14[TH] ANNIVERSARY EVENT ON 2[ND] OCTOBER 2021

Tamu Samaj UK celebrated its 14th Annual Festival on 2nd October 2021 with great pomp and fanfare at the Tamu Samaj UK Naples Community Centre in Wembley Barham Park, London. Tamu Samaj UK President Shivakumar Gurung presided over London Borough of Hounslow Mayor Councillor Bishnu Bahadur Gurung as the chief guest. The event was jointly inaugurated by Chitra Bahadur Gurung, the chief guest, President and Founder President of TSUK, by lighting a lamp in Panas. Along with the program's opening, the national anthem of Nepal and the UK was played. Other special guests were the President of Tamu Dhee Association UK, Mr Hit Kaji Gurung and the Founder President of the British Gurkha Memorial Museum Pokhara Nepal, Capt(retd) Ek Narayan Gurung and executive members of Tamu Dhee UK.

Mr Dharam Bal Gurung, General Secretary of the Society, conducted the formal programme of the fourteenth annual celebration. At the same time, Niraj Gurung gave information about health and safety. Shivakumar Gurung, President of Tamu Samaj UK, delivered the welcome speech at the event. During the welcome speech of the historic fourteenth annual celebration programme, after giving information about the organisation and social activities, President ShivaKumar Gurung said as we have done over the last ten years, we will continue to work for the preservation and promotion of the art and culture of the Tamu caste in UK.

The Chairman of the programme expressed special thanks to the chief guest of the event, Councillor Bishnu Bahadur Gurung, Mayor of the London Borough of Hounslow and his wife, Mrs Sita Gurung, for their honourable presence at the programme.

President Shiva Kumar Gurung and mother group chairperson, Uma Devi Gurung, presented the plaque of the society with flowers to the chief guest. In addition, the chief guest Mayor Bishnu Bahadur Gurung also gave letter of appreciation on behalf of the London Borough of Hounslow to the organisation's president and the executive committee's members, expressing high appreciation for the social work done by Tamu Samaj UK. The cake-cutting function was done by the chief guest, President of Tamu Samaj UK and President of Tamu Dhee UK, assisted by the Founder, President and past Presidents. In the entertainment section, the artists choreographed by Vice President Bindu Ghale and Bimala Gurung, former president Arjun Gurung, Bimala Gurung, Bindu Ghale, Ritu Gurung, Prajju Gurung, Suvina Ghale and Sumi Gurung

performed excellent dances. At the event, the mother group welcomed all the guests with flowers and badges. In the last phase of the 14th annual celebration formal programme, which started at 4:30 pm, the Vice President received various dishes prepared by Rara catering in conjunction with Sports and Food Secretary Harriman Gurung. At the last stage, Vice President Bhim Bahadur Gurung gave a thank you speech and everyone danced to the DJ of Bishal Lama and had a lot of fun, and it ended at midnight. The total number of attendees was 75 people. The total expenditure was £2,815.87, and the total income was £1,465. The total cost incurred on the event was £1,350.87.

TAMU SAMAJ UK’S TIHAR DEUSHI/BHAILO PROGRAMME ON 7[TH] NOVEMBER 2021.

The Tamu Samaj UK Tihar Deushi Bahilo programme was held on 7th November 2021 at Tamu Samaj UK Nepalese Community Centre, Barham Park, Wembley to raise the fund on the auspicious festival of Tihar to go towards the mortgage of Tamu Samaj UK property.

During the Deushi Bhailo programme, Tamu Samaj UK received £4,222 donations from community members and well-wishers. Deushi Bhilo programme was organised by Tamu Samaj UK’s vice chairman, Mr Bhim Bahadur Gurung, and mother group Chairperson Mrs Uma Devi Gurung.

TAMU SAMAJ UK’S TO LHOCHHAR PUJA(PRAYING) CEREMONY PROGRAMME ON 30[TH] DECEMBER 2021

The Tamu Samaj UK held the To lhochhar Puja (Praying) ceremony programme on 30th December 2021 at Tamu Samaj UK Nepalese Community Centre Barham Park Wembley Sudbury. The Committee member/puja co-ordinator, Mr Hariman Gurung, the mother group chairperson Mrs Uma Devi Gurung, and the mother group members coordinated the Puja ceremony. The puja Ceremony was conducted by Guru Rinpoche, Dr Gyalje Sherpa and Lopen Phurba lama. During the puja ceremony, many members and well-wishers attended. The food and beverage were provided voluntarily by members of the mother group. The puja ceremony started at 10 AM and ended at 4 PM.

TAMU SAMAJ UK’S COMMITTEE MEMBERS AND MOTHER GROUP MEMBERS HOSPITAL VISITS, SYAI SYAI AND BEST WISHING.

Tamu Samaj UK’s committee member and mother group carried out important social work by providing support during good and bad incidents in the community. They attended to congratulate and give best wishes on happy occasions such as wedding, birth of new baby and graduations. They also attended to provide social wellbeing support during difficult times such as sickness and funerals.

In 2021 and 2022, Tamu Samaj UK lost one member and one family member and organised their funeral programmes. One member's deceased body was repatriated back to Nepal for the funeral. Tamu Samaj UK has supported their grieved family during a difficult time.

Tamu Samaj UK has committed to preserving our religion to keep our identity alive even abroad we have been performing our rituals and celebrating various Nepali festivals to identify our religion, tradition, and culture as much as possible.

The Trustees of Tamu Samaj UK develop many ideas to raise funds, organise cultural programmes or charity events. Every attempt is made to ensure the validity and legality of the policies. The policies are reviewed during every annual general meeting, and even earlier on if any concerns are raised by the members or executive members.

During 2021-2022, twenty (6) Life members joined Tamu Samaj UK. The total numbers up to this date are 547 Life Members.

Future plans

The coming year will see a continued emphasis on fundraising to keep up the mortgage and reduce the capital payment of community house, providing inclusive life skills training and sharing cultural and community events with our members and the wider community. The London Borough of Brent has been awarded the London Borough of Culture 2023, and Tamu Samaj UK intends to participate in some way, sharing our culture and traditions with the broader community.
