Section D Achievements and performance

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year

2022/2023 was a challenging period. The charity went back to its pre covid objectives meaning the charity’s focus was on the street children in Pakistan

The charity managed to maintain and fulfill all its commitments to the supported children from 2021/2022 period.It was also able to provide more meals and clothing for the children on the streets.

Further to the meeting with Charities Commission a number of new working/procedural practices have been recommended and are in the process of being put into practice and these will make a significant difference over the next 12/24 months as to how the charity operates over the long term.

Served over 23 000 meals to street children in Pakistan

Distributed 3 400 jumpers/sweatshirts/warm clothing to street children in Pakistan

HEAL now has 4 volunteers in Pakistan working in the interests of the charity and we hope to increase this number in 2023/24.

Brief statement of the

charity’s policy on reserves

The charity is not in a position to have any reserves but as per Charities Commission advice we are looking at ways of creating a 6 months reserve. At the moment we are in a position where all income raised is spent but are looking to create as reserve. When we are in a position of reserves then the policy is to create a 6 months reserve.

As it stands the majority of the charity’s income comes from regular donors who have been supporting for a number of years.

We have managed to secure new donors for 2022-23

All expenditure has been to maintain the children supported by the charity and to provide meals and warm clothing for the other children on the streets of Pakistan.

Expenditure for the charity is kept at an absolute minimal. No costs or expenses have been claimed by the trustees for the period 2022/2023
