It Is amazlng how tlme has flown. In a serSe$ of news releases and social media posts, we have p8miitted ourselves a brief look back through the years, focusing on some of tha key events and personalitles who hav& helped us move so far forward and so quickly. We have also reflected on the many developm&nts over the 10 years, such as the h¥0 new kilchons, the Cadess Ecology Centre, the completlon of the jlgsaw with the acquisition of the Estate Office and the recognrtlon received through th? Queen's Award for Voluntary Service. There wfll be no to stand still, however. 2024125 was a very busy year encompasslng a very full range of activities and lsIderab maSntenance expenditure. A hlghlighl has been the opening of the new disabled ramp to thè Hall, funded by a grant from the Willkm A Cadbury Charitable Tnjst and by the fundraising and donallons of our local community. W18 have continued with the unglamorous but very necessary work on dralnage, roofing, electrics and UmbIng. We are In the process of commlsslonlng a strategic optlons appralsal, helping us to chart a sustalnable strategy for the next 10 years. Moor Pool Halls V¥e conttnue to see enhanced utllSsathJn arKI income from hirers. We wekomed new customeryts such as a Salsa class. Leaf Creative Arts and Yin Meditative Yoga. INe continue to offer fairly priced and Ilexlble facilities to our regubr customers during the wee Vveekends remain largely the province of one-off hlres such as chlldren's parties, other family and leisure functions, as well as our Moor Pool events such as the Heritage Festlval. Greon Space8 We have continued wlth the programme of yearty tree maintenance as recommended In the 2021 Independent tree survey. The recommendation for 2024125 entailed the removal ol four very signifi¢ant Brack Poplar trees from the boundary of Park Edge and the Moor Pool on safety grounds. B Rl¢hard$ Tree Semces perfomed thls very capably for us over the course of a number of days. Vthilst the removal of such tall trees has resulted In a different horizon over the pool, the extent of the remainlng tree cover Is substanllal. and the other spaci8s will get more light wlthout the poplars. Th& N?ttlefold Garden Continues lo prosper. The Park Is open from 9am to dusk every day during spring, summer and autumn and on VekendS during the wtnter months. Tai Chi classes tske place every Tuesday, with a yoga class on Sunday momings. We would like to thank the Garden Committee and all of tts volunteers for thelr Contlnued hard work in lèadlng Its development and for the ongoing maintenance. It Is very much appreciated.
