| Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity’s work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole. |
Para 1.20 | The PTA organises a series of events throughout the year with the objectives of 1) raising funds for the school 2) encouraging participation from families in the social life of the school community. Whilst the funds raised are vital to enabling enhanced educational experiences and opportunities for pupils of the school, the events themselves also provide enriching experiences for the children and help the adult volunteers and visitors to build social networks and connections in ways that have numerous positive benefits for their own lives, the work of the school and the community in the wider sense. In the 2023/2024 academic year, the PTA organised nine fundraising events. The majority were fairs run in the school playground at the end of the school day, typically involving a variety of games and crafts, food and drink, performances, dressing up and face painting. A quiz night was the only evening event, and the Summer Fair took place on a Saturday, helping to boost the visibility and accessibility of the social life of the school and welcome participation by a broader cross-section of the community. In addition to the events held at the school, in May, a sponsored Fun Run has also been organised with the involvement of 200 pupils and their parents. A further new development in the 2023-24 academic year was parents of pupils connecting the charity with corporate donors through workplace giving programmes and employer donation matching. As a result, the PTA is in a stronger financial position with significantly higher income relative to previous years. The PTA managed to raise £19,212 from the |

fundraising events, and £15,184 from donations. Funds raised by the PTA covered the cost of a whole school theatre trip in December and smaller scale expenditure throughout the year including oranges for sports day, books, active play and playground sports equipment and help towards the replacing the allweather pitch. The additional income associated with the larger donations and fun run sponsorship resulted in the charity making a one-off transfer of £20,000 to the school in February 2024 to help cover the salary costs of a new teaching assistant. Whilst varied in scale and purpose, all these items have contributed to enabling enhanced educational experiences and opportunities for pupils of the school.

financial position at the end strong and stable at the end of this financial
of the period year.
The opening balance (across two bank

inflows of £34,428 and total outflows of
£39,087, net cashflows were -£4,658,
resulting in a closing balance of £25,020

large corporate donations during the year,

effectively used, and simultaneously, the
overall strong financial position has been
