APSL works with the Sri Lankan community here in the UK and also in Sri Lanka to bring about links within the community to promote peace, education and economic upliftment. It also acts as a network among profesisonals of the Sri Lankan community to ensure they are world-class.

Objects: The Association’s Charitable Objectives Are:to Further Such Charitable Purposes For The Benefit Of The Public In Sri Lanka And The United Kingdom As The Management Committee (as Charity Trustees) See Fit From Time To Time In Particular But Not Limited To:(a) Advancing Education And Training (in Particular But Not Limited To The Education, Training And Development Of Professionals Or Those Joining A Profession (a “profession” In This Instance Being A Vocation Founded Upon Specialised Educational Training));(b) Promoting Conflict Resolution And Reconciliation In Particular Among Tamil And Sinhalese Members Of The Community And Muslim Members Of The Community Who Are Of Sri Lankan Origin; (c) Relieving Those In Financial Need, Hardship And Distress;(d) Promoting Racial Harmony;(e) Promoting Equality And Diversity For The Public Benefit; And By(f) Promoting The Social Inclusion Of Sri Lankan Members Of The Community By Preventing Them From Becoming Socially Excluded, Relieving Their Needs And Assisting Them To Integrate Into Society.
