MINUTES OF SPITTAL IMPROVEMENT TRUST’S AGM HELD IN SPITTAL COMMUNITY CENTRE ON TUESDAY 23[RD] APRIL 2024 @ 7PM.

ATTENDING: Mau Watkins, Rhona Beresford, Lynda Young, Diane Adamson, Ian Beresford, Scott Weightman, Rob Smith & Mike Greener.

NOMINATION OF AGM CHAIR: Mau Watkins was nominated Chair by Rob Smith & Mike Greener.

Mau Watkins then proceeded to welcome everyone to this Annual General Meeting of Spittal Improvement Trust for the financial year ending 31[st] March 2024.

APOLOGIES: Gordon Blackett & Ruth Robertson (who advised that she did not want to stand again as a committee member).

MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS AGM: Minutes for 25[th] April 2023 were approved.

TREASURER’S REPORT: Ian Beresford gave a report to the yearend 31[st] March 2024, copies of which are attached.

CHAIRMAN’S REPORT: Mau Watkins stated that the Community Centre was doing well. There had been some additional improvements such as the Mini Museum. This had been opened by the two oldest people living in Spittal, Else Turnball and Kathy Thompson. Both of these ladies had been keen supporters of SIT, but both had sadly passed away.

PROPOSED CHANGES TO CONSTITUTION: None had been proposed.

ELECTION OF EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEMBERS: The present committee

members who indicated they wished to stand again were Lynda Young, Rhona Beresford, Ian Beresford, Scott Weightman Gordon Blackett and Mike Greener. Mau Watkins was co-opted on to the committee.

ELECTION OF EXECUTIVE OFFICIALS: The officials elected at this meeting until the 2025 AGM are as follows:

Chair – Mau Watkins (co-opted)

Vice Chair – Rhona Beresford

Treasurer – Ian Beresford

Secretary – Mike Greener

ELECTION OF SIT TRUSTEES: The existing Trustees, Mike Greener and Lynda Young, agreed to continue as Trustees. Although not able to attend this meeting, Irene Thomson had expressed an interest in becoming a SIT Trustee. This was agreed by the meeting.

DATE OF NEXT AGM: Tuesday 22[nd] April 2025. This meeting closed at 8:00pm.
