Covld-19 In March 2020, as part ofthe nallonal lockdown. the Communty Centre closed for over four month8, th staff joining the HMRC Coronavifus Job Retention furlough scheme. Alihouth, some groups retumed in July and August folloryng Central Govemmenl guidelines for re-opening, the social distancing restrictions prevented many hirers Te-pining. Indeed from Chrtstina8 the Centre was once again closed for a fuither five months %*ith the instigats.on of the second lockdovm. The impact of the pandemic inevitably had a maTr)r effect on the yea$ income and ffinan¢ial performance. however Trustees were watefvl for West Sufftilk Council Covid-19 Business Support grants N¥hich minimised the consequences of an unprecedentetj exceptional period. Trustees contmued to keep in regular contact and meet using online tethnology vthen possible. the Chairman regularly providing Covid updatss.

Sadly, popular annual events had to be cancelled. the sell out coach day trips to London, bingo sessions, Community Day and inibatives for local residents. However, the enforced closures and restrictions contributed to many resourGefvl enterprBes taking place behind our sleeping gianfs dosed shutters. l) Followng various dosures there was actualty aD increase in enwiries for new user group5 and the number of different groups hiring- we are proud to provide excellent safe fa(ilrtie5 for a ryde range of community groups as well as provision of health and soryal care,. 2) We continue the partneTrhip vthh a local ¢ommerc4al publisher in supporfing a monthly community magazine knovffl as the Southgate Directory informing the Ial community and beyond of ne from the Communlty Centr•. 3) Hosting weekly potiVe 8tsps-based exer(#se dasses as a fall$ prevention $eryi¢e, these have continued as an essentr'al user group where restric11$ alr)wed. 4) Co-operating with Southgate Church wthich ocrJJpie8 part of the tlI(b.ng and has first use of the Community Centre on Sundays. 8ssi$ting it to provide Belf dtstsnced 8eNice8 rythln Centr81 Govemment guideline$ at Christmas and Easter. 5) Supporting community initialives during lock induding Rock Snake. Report forthe year ended 31 Mah 2021 R•sufts andrestwes For the year ended to 31st Marth 2021 there was income of£55,112 and eXPenthre of£50,071 - wth a surplus of£5,041. The surplus was lower compared to the previous year due to impacts of Covid-19. Trustees had a policy of maintsining a reserve to cover three months overheads. Fund balance8 increased by just over £5.0 in the year. The ¢hallenge in the medum term is to Lrow income to support the existing comnwtments of the Partnership and to continue to inyrove the fabric of the Communty Centre.
