We are devoted to the education and holistic development of orphans and other children traumatised and impoverished by the civil war. Section D Achievements and performance Summary ofthe main achlevements of the charlty durlng the year We have sponsored the education of nearly 5000 children since our launch in 2009. We funded the full-time education of 600 primary and secondary school children. 30 of our school leavers are engaged in University education and 15 students will complete their rnedical degrees by 2024. We funded the residential course for 9 Health Care Assistants in Batticaloa and 8 Gompleted the course and have secured full-time employment. We have opened study centres in many towns, providing extra classes for 01 A level students and also yr S scholarship pupils. They are free and operate at weekends and school holidays We have supported sew-employment schemes mainly for women, heading households.5 women were helped with start-ups for clay pot making, coconut oil extradion, tailoring and store keeping • we invested 5 Lakhs on procuring 5 shops to promotg retailing in Batticaloa,as part of the WE CAN movement under Our LIVELIHOOD ENHANCEMENT SCHEME nearly 20 women learned to make and market handicrafts made from waste products like coconut shells and wood cuts Sewing project in the Urani village,in Amparai has been sucSsful in the training and marketing of tailored products 5 families in Vaharai, Trincomalee district have benefrted from our investment in irrigating and provision of 4112 acres of land and tools for Cultivation..
