Supporting the provision of music to pupils at Gallions Primary School, especially through funding for instruments and other related equipment.

Gallions Music Trust uses the power of music to improve the lives and life chances of children living in the London Borough of Newham. Newham is one of the most deprived boroughs in England. Poverty affects approximately 50% of the children in Newham.

The trustees have had regard to the guidance of the Charity Commission on public benefit.

Section D Achievements and performance

Summary of the main
achievements of the charity
during the year
The Covid-19 pandemic and its accompanying restrictions (not
officially lifted until February 2022) continued to present challenges
to fundraising and to the delivery of the music programme by the
School.
Through our grant giving to the School we were able to support
individual bursary lessons for children at the School, participation in
orchestra and music provision to children with Special Education
Needs.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31/08/2022

Responsibilities and As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the basis of report preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
