The SDA provided a grant of £600 which was
awarded for 10 practce nurses, to atend a
Diabetes Remission Training Course.
The funeral of Margaret Rawlinson was held at
the Portchester Crematorium during the
morning. The Gosport Shop was closed for the
duraton of the funeral so that her SDA friends
could atend.
The SDA Christmas meal took place at The
Castle pub in Gosport.
Diabetes Day at St Vincent’s College Gosport.
Informaton stall manned by Brian and Chris
Edwards.
Brian Edwards stood down from the SDA Board
of Directors due to serious health problems.
We
would like to express the enormous grattude
we
have for Brian; without his drive and
commitment the SDA would not be in the
positon it is today. He will be Sorley missed on
the Board.
Dave Dick (Treasurer) invited Christne Edwards
(SDA Director) to do an hour’s radio program
with him on his slot at The Gosport Memorial
Hospital on the hospital radio. This involved
questons about the start of the charity, the
many
things done since the charity was set up the
present actvites and hopes for the future. Pleas
were made for volunteers and Directors.
The chatng was around music selected by Dave
and allpieces had sugar mentoned

somewhere in them. It was a superb interview and responses to the questions. A superb job by Dave and Chris. Chris Edwards assisted by husband Brian, provided an SDA stand at a diabetes event organised by a lady representing DUK. This took place in the Community Kettle CIC’s Intergenerational Hub, High Street Cosham. It ran from 10.00 am to 14.00 pm. The morning was very productive but a lot quieter after lunch. One new SDA member signed up and two other forms take by interested persons. Sylvia Root (Director) attended a tabletop sale with one of our volunteers Rosmary, the raised an incredible £300 Fareham Showcase by Community First. SDA In formation Stand manned by Chris (Director), Sam (Shops’ Manager) and Crisha (Assistant Manager). The Caravan has one again been a great success with 21 weeks sold, we struggle with low occupancy in April, May and June. Staff and volunteers have worked exceptionally hard to fill in gaps caused by shortages of volunteers. Please encourage suitable people to volunteer if you possibly can. The Board of Directors/Trustees needs new members. Please make every effort to talk suitable people into coming forward. Anything you can do to support the Board will make life easier for all concerned and ensure the future of the SDA. .

Anything you can do to support the Board will make life easier for all concerned and ensure the future of the SDA. .
