Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document In order to achieve the principal objective, which is set oul above, the church provides a variety of activities both to its membership and to the community generally. The aim is to show the love of Jesus Christ in both word and deed and to bring people into a closer relationship with Him as living Lord. Central to the work and bwtness of the church is the provision of a regular public service of Christian worship, taking Pla￿ each Sunday moming at 10.OOa.m. A separate children's programme is provided during this service The church seeks to be a friendly and welcoming community, where all are free to attend these services. We have also continued with attemative style church services these include Breakfast Church and Jimmy's Cafe,. both are aimed at the local community for whom a "traditional" Sunday ¢hur¢h service might not appeal. Section D Achievements and performance Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year As a leadership team, we meet once a month. firstly to consider the programme of events. uwlate us on financial matters, then consider any facilty matters arKI also respond to any ongoing matters. Our church membership has increased from elev8n members to twelve. The treasurer reported that totsl re￿IPtS for the year at £56.4K with a deficrt of £13.2K, this was primarily due to one main item not included in our original budget. The church hall sustained rainwater damage, as a result of a roof leak in De￿rnber 2022. This resulted in an unplanned repair cost totallin9 £16.8k. We have continued to engage wtth our mission partners dunng the year to update us on their work. We keep under review our commitment to all of our partners in light of their current need. Also, we continue to make one-off donations for Spe￿fiC needs. We continue wrth our close relationships with other churches in Wafford to promote the Christian faith across our town. The sessions are a buzz of activrty, bmth the opportunity to build relationships. In addition to activrties fonnally linked to the church, vanous members also served as volunteers in other local chanties and organisations, è.g., Altemats'ves Watford and New Hope Trust. The church expressed its part in the lrfe of the wider church by making donations to local, national. and intemational Christian organisations and societies wth aims and objectives compatible with the church's own charitable purpose. The church is heavily dependent on its membership working as volunteers in all aspects of the church's activities, many of which run with little or no impact on the ¢hur¢h's expendrture, but nevertheless contribute substantially to the achievement of the church's objectives. The financial resutts for the year, together wrth a summary of the accounting policies adopted are set out in the accompanying financial statements. The Trustees are satisfied that they have sufficient reserves at the Balance Sheet date, together with ongoing income anticipated, lo enable the church to function effectively during the forthcoming year.
