London Mozart Players and ft>ur exceptlonal sololsts In a deeply movlng perfornian￿. Also included In the programme were Mozart's Adogio ond Fuoue and hls Vesperoe Solennes de Conftssore. On 21 July we promoted somethln8 3 Ilttle outslde our nomlal pro8fdmmln& by stsglng A Night ot the Opero. We welcomed the ￿tUrn of LorKlon Festfval Opern. who In one half of the programme presented a selectlon of popular operotlc encores. and In the other. a staged ￿r$SOn ot the stsnd￿Ut arla5 and ensembles of Verfl's Lo frovioto. The audience TKarn)ed to the tiagic story of the Il￿f￿ted love between Aifredo and the consumptlve Vk>letta. The trumw came to the fore on 5 October. when Matllda Lloyd wowed the audlence wlth her phenomenal technique on this most excitln8 of Instruments. Culmlnatin8 In a fabulous perfomiance of Haydn's famous Trumm Concerto the programme also included works by Mercadante. Rosslni and Mozart's SYMph(￿V no.40 in G Min(Y, one of his three last great symphonies.
