IndNiduals and families from church con8reBations and on the periphery of churth have attended. It ts a place for people of all ages to gather outdoor5 and to connect with the space and with God. The intention is that the time tO8Èthèr 11 be fun and engaging and li is a place to enjoy creaiion. nature and bnE together. As well as a differeni venue being exore each month on a Sunday aftemoon. this year there was another Muddy Church Campout at 8onsall Camp over a weekend in July. Twelve familiè5 were represented- fifty.three people attended, includlng fourteen volunteer hdpets. The theme of the weekend was God'5 Great Garden, which included thinking about God as CrÈattsr. Gardenèr, Li8ht. Breath and Living Waief. The weather was wet but this did not dampèn the enthusiasm. Feedback from those who attended included.. A fHnta5tic. whole50ffle weekend where the power of God realty wo5 Wlthin thÈ groupl Every single person had an opportunity to enjoy the weekend ihrough a variety of atthvities that catered for young ènd old, as well as some lovely group sessions that helped brin8 everything together. This was a great opportunityto relax and be looked afterin so many ways. There were lots of fun artivitie5 and a chance to chat with new people. Unique precious exper*n¢e. Christianity Month The circuit held another Christianity Month this year. in May 2025.. there were two initiatives: Thy Kingdom Come is a global ecumenical prayer rnovement that invites Christians around the world to pray from Ascension to Pentecost lor more Peop to cometo knowjesus. The circuit held a 2417 prayer event from 29 May to 8, June. with people in the churthes praying etther alone or in groups at home or in their church for half.hour SesonS. It included a period of one hour prawng via Zoom. The circuit had 3 PrayÈr Calèndar for the rnonih of May= eath church. each Minister and other groups in the circuii were allocated one day in May. They wrote prayer points whith were put t)n the cirtult Facebook page on the relevant day. Wolking through Lent. based on ihe Bible Teadings forthe sixweeks of Lent, wa5 led by Mini5ter5 and Local Preacher5 from the circuit. Ministers and Local Preachers preached on the Gospel of John in 50me<hurche5 duringjurte 2025 as part of the national Bible Month. The Dwelling Place Rachel Barday. the Circuit Family and Outreach Worker, is based at The Dwelling Place, which is a circuit projert- She Iso work5 at St. Andrev/5 Churrh. Langley Mill. Rachel runs various groups and a(tivities at The Owelling Place with the help of ¥olvnteers frorn the circuit thurches. The Food Cabin continues as a mission initiative. An a¥èr4t of twèrtty peoplè attend each Friday. where they can purchase a bag of food for £S- a free lunch is also available and up to thirty people toke up this offer. A Warm Space wa5 offered a8ain during the winter month5. A weekly toddler group started in September 2024. Twenty-two toddlers have been signed up with twdve attending each week with a parent or other adult. In addition. a Messy Toddler Group started in May 2025.. The Ark- Messy Moments with Big Bible Adventures. This is an opportunity to learrb different 8ible stories each month through sensory play and exploration. Tea Time Churth services stsrted in September 2024. taking Pla on Sunday afternoons twice a month and including carol service in December 2024. However. attendan¢e was low and tl was decided to stop the services in January 2025,. they may be started again in fvture rf there is a need. The circuit has made an agreement with the Renew Wellberng Charity SO that Thè tfvftllrn8 Ptsce can become a Renew Space. Rachel and volunieers host ihe space. called The t)wellbeing Renew Space, twice a month. It is a Wellbeing Café which offer5 time and 5pacE for pegpleto look aftertheirwellbeing. There are opportunities to build relationships, learn a new skill or craft. play 8ames and pray. The Dwelling Place was a150 used for sornè mÈÈtirgs fer the Circvtt. Evenis for Adults The mission event with a speaker. vthich was p)stpcrfhed from last year. took 3(e in September 2024. Paul Kerensa, a Christian comediarj and tomedy writer. prèsentèd A Nht of Comedy. This was aimed at people on the fringe of the church but most of the people who went were members of the church congregations. The evening was well received and we hope people will invite their non-christian friends if a sirnilar evening is organised in future. There have been two Biker 8reakfast and Blessing events for motorcyclists during the year. Each time there wa5 a breakfast at tsne of the ¢hur¢hes and prayers led by circuit minister. Rtw Tim Simms, who is a motorcyclist. Then the motorcyclists rode out into Derbyshire and congregated formore refre5hrnentsand 3 final prayer. The number of people attending was lalrly small but it is hoped that more peop will attend as these events bÈcomÈ more well-known. 3Generate This is an event for thildren and young people aged between 4 and 18. organised by the Methodist Church nationally. It took place at the Nati31 Exhibition Centre, Birmin8ham, from 4th to 6 OttobÈr 2024.. there wèr• ovèr 1.6CKI young people u$ their leaders. It included various activities, workshops and worship se55ion5 designed to help young people explore their faith. develop leadership ski115 and make a po&tNe impact in their communitie5. Eight young people fTOrn the circuit, aged between 9 and 17, attended 3Generate.' they wereactompanbed by three leaders. Everyone had a good experience and most of the vrn$SterS would like to 80 again. This is the first time a group from ihe circuii has atiended 3Generate. One of the youn8 people will be 18 by next year and would be interested io BQ as a leeT. Youth Pathway The Youth Pathway has been running for almost a year- it is designed for young people in school year 5 and above to join together for times of fellowship, learning and wor5hbp. Monthly event5 were organi5ed for the young people a55ociated with the churches in the Circuit. These included: ten wn I)01n& opportunities to join district youth Èvents, to go to the Cliff College Festival (see below) and to attend 3Generate,' aitending ihe Rooted worship event5- and an event to raise fund5 lor the trip to 3Generate. whi¢h was hosted by the young people. On Saturday 23rd NovembÈr a Du9gie Dug Dug Crozy Science Porty was led by Doug Horley. who is a we11-krwn song wrrter and has a national and international ministry with children. This was aimed at primary school children and their f)rnilies but was open to all. Approximately 100 people attended. On 5Ltnday 24" November a artuit alpage serwce was led by l)oug Horley.. about IW people from across the orcuil attended the service. Circuit Holiday Club A holiday club look place at two of the chur¢hes during the February half term school holiday- this was led by Christian drama company Ploy it by Ear. There were mornin8 se55ions on three days at Marehay and afternoon sessions at Matlock. Five youn8 people were young leaders at the holiday club and some of them may be willing to help with anv holiday clubs ihat the churches hold. Cllff College Festival Several people from the circuit attended CliffFe5t in May 2025 at Cliff College, a Christian theological college In Calver, Derbyshire. The 2025 festival wa5 called Holiness Colling and included worshhp. teaching and activit$ for all a8es. Ciicuit Bi8 Day Toeèthef Approximately sixty children and adults came tDgÈther at Belper Methodist Church and enjoyed a day of a(tivities, games. competitions and ftsod. This replaced the coach trips to the seaside which the circuit had oreanised in the prewous two yeafs. The food was good value for the adults and accompanying children received a free lunch box and an ice ¢ream. The families vtho came really enjoyed it- some said it was better than going on a long coach trip. Some people, who did not go, said they would prefer • trip out. A coach trip to Skegne5s might be organtsed next year. Alternatively, another'holiday at home. will be aNanged and a trip to York to see a pasgon play may be or8an¢sed for dults. Troinin Safeguardrng training was Pfowded in the Circuit and the District. Training was completed by those people in CifCUIt and church roles requirin8 Such training. Some people from the rircuit attended a Safeguarding Conference organised by the Nattingham and Derby Meththjist District. The title of the conference was Forget Me Not,. it was a sensitive and 5UPPQrtive response to memory105s and dernentia. People taking Up roles during ihe year which require Equality. DNersity and Inclusion training completed the trainin8 online. Two people started the Lttal Preacher connexional training Course during the year and one Loc31 Preacher was accredited. having completed the course. Five people completed ihe In-circuit Worship Leader training cOue and three of them were appointed as Worship Leaders in their churches. Doto Protection The Circuit ha5 fulfilled its responsibilities re8arding the General Data Protection Regulation. The Privacy Poliry, from the Methodist Church. is available for the public. The Circuti Data Protection Annual Checklist was completed and retumed to the Trustees for Methodist Church Purposes. tircuitsto in The Circuit welcomed four new full time Lay Employees duringthe year.. Local Lay Pastor. Anne Wekh wirh pastoral care of three chbjrches,. Circuit Property and Facilit$ Manager, Philip Stainer.. CAMEO (Come And Meet Each Other) Worker, Alison Wood. working with people aged 55 and above- and Youth, Family and Chiklien's Worker, Hannah Mccay. Anne does the same sort of work as the Circuit ministers. except she may not preside at services of Holy Communion. So. the churches in Denby Bottles. Matlock Moor and Tansley now have their own pastor,. this gives mre ministerial time to all of the churches in the circuit. Alison and Hannah are supporting churches across the circuit in outreach into their local communities, providing miss¢on opportunities which the circuit could not previously provide. Philip has been engaged in work on the circuit properties, espe¢iallythe work which needed to be doneto comply with the quinquenni31 reports.

Money from the sale ofthe Loscoe house weni intoan Eco Fund.. a grant making poliryfor this fund was crèated. Grants to churches wll help their buildings to become carbon neutral by 2030. some of the money will also be used to make the mini5tÈrs' manses carbon neutral. Two church buildin8 projects were c(Nnpleted during the year.
